2024 Chevrolet Bolt EV Preview Preview, Pricing, Release Date

2024 Chevrolet Bolt EV

Model Preview

After receiving a major makeover in 2022, we expect the Chevrolet Bolt EV to arrive without any significant changes for the 2024 model year. The Bolt EV is one of the most affordable electric cars on the market and straddles the line between being a hatchback and an SUV.

Chevrolet isn’t expected to make any changes to the Bolt EV’s design for 2024. The electric hatchback should continue to have the same futuristic design as the current model that’s on sale. The Bolt EV has a grille-less front end with slim daytime running lights and square headlights that are integrated into an angular trim piece. The wide opening for the front air intake, ridged hood, and body cladding give the Bolt EV a distinctive design. At the back, the Bolt EV has a blacked-out C-pillar, a modest rear spoiler, oval taillights, and a rounded rear bumper.

The Bolt EV features a straightforward interior design with an intuitive layout. The tiered dashboard design sweeps up as it reaches the instrument cluster, while the center console has physical controls for the HVAC system that sits underneath the infotainment screen. Instead of a traditional gear shifter, the Bolt EV has push-button controls for the transmission. Because of its tall hatchback design, the Bolt EV has a generous amount of interior space and a large cargo area. We don’t expect to see any changes to the 2024 Bolt EV’s interior design.

On the tech front, the current Bolt EV comes with a 10.2-inch touchscreen and an eight-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, six audio speakers, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and two USB ports. Available tech features include a Bose audio system, a wireless charging pad, and two rear USB ports. The 2024 Bolt EV should be available with the same tech features.

Chevrolet offers the Bolt EV with a single powertrain that should remain the same for 2024. The electric hatchback comes with a single electric motor on the front wheels that makes 200 horsepower and a 66-kWh battery pack. The Bolt EV offers up to 259 miles of range and has DC fast-charging capability that allows the EV to get up to 100 miles of range in 30 minutes.

The 2024 Bolt EV will come with the same standard safety features as the current model on sale. The current Bolt EV comes with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and automatic high-beam assist. Available safety features include adaptive cruise control, a surround-view parking camera, rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Pricing & Release Date

Based on previous schedules, the 2024 Chevrolet Bolt EV could enter into production this summer. Without any expected changes, the electric hatchback should have a similar price tag to the current model's MSRP which ranges from $27,495 to $30,695 (with destination).

The Chevrolet Bolt EV competes against the Nissan Leaf, Hyundai Kona Electric, Tesla Model 3, Kia Niro EV, and Volkswagen ID.4.
