2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Model Preview

After receiving a few substantial changes over the past few years, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is expected to arrive as a carryover model. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 continues to be a competitive option in the full-size segment, so a carryover model shouldn’t be seen as a negative.

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 should have the same exterior design as the current truck that’s on sale. The current pickup truck features a distinctive front-end design with a large front grille, a split headlight design, and a rugged front bumper. The rear end of the pickup features a bumper with built-in steps and square taillights. Higher trim levels like the Trail Boss and ZR2 add a rugged body kit, while the LTZ and High Country have more chrome and larger wheels for a more luxurious look.

The interior design of the current Silverado 1500 changes dramatically based on trim level. Lower trim levels have a rugged, work-oriented interior design with durable materials, large center console controls, and a center console that juts out of the dashboard. Higher trim levels come with a cabin that feels and looks far more luxurious. On upper trim levels, the dashboard has two large screens that dominate the dashboard, while the controls for the HVAC system sit below a tiered dash. Higher trims also come with premium interior materials and convenience features that make the truck feel like a luxury vehicle. The 2024 Silverado 1500 should have the same overall interior design as the current truck on sale.

On the tech front, standard features on the current Silverado 1500 include a seven-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two audio speakers, and two USB ports. Moving up to a higher trim brings a 13.4-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, four extra USB ports, and seven audio speakers. The upcoming 2024 Silverado 1500 should come with the same tech features.

Chevrolet offers the Silverado 1500 with a well-rounded lineup of powertrains that aren’t expected to change for 2024. The truck starts off with a turbo 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 310 horsepower. A 5.3-liter V8 engine and a 6.2-liter V8 engine are available, making 355 hp and 420 hp, respectively. A 3.0-liter turbo-diesel six-cylinder engine is also offered, producing 277 hp. Both the 6.2-liter V8 engine and diesel six-cylinder bring 13,300 pounds of towing capacity.

Despite being a large pickup truck, the Silverado 1500 comes well-equipped with safety features. Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure warning. Available features include blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and Chevrolet’s Super Cruise system.

Pricing & Release Date
