2024 Hyundai Elantra Preview Model Preview & Release Date

2024 Hyundai Elantra

Model Preview

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is expected to arrive with a facelift for the upcoming model year. Hyundai has unveiled the new version of the Elantra for the Korean market and we expect the same changes to be in store for the 2024 Elantra when it arrives in the U.S.

Large changes will be happening for the 2024 Elantra when it comes to its exterior design. The sedan is expected to arrive with an updated exterior design that shouldn’t be as polarizing. The front end of the 2024 Elantra is expected to adopt a smaller grille that’s just as wide, but not as tall. The headlights will continue to have a swept-back design but are expected to be slimmer. The front fascia will be redesigned to have a rectangular traditional air intake with smaller side air intakes. The hood will continue to have deep ridges and prominent body lines. At the back, the sedan will have a redesigned rear bumper and updated taillights.

Hyundai hasn’t provided a good look at the 2024 Elantra’s interior, but we don’t expect any major changes to the car’s cabin. The compact car should continue to feature an upscale design with a dashboard and center console that separates the driver and the passenger. The dashboard features a horizontal air vent that runs the full width of the dash and splits the infotainment screen from the controls for the HVAC system. For a compact car, the Elantra has a few upscale touches like available dual screens and a four-pronged steering wheel.

Hyundai Elantra

We don’t expect Hyundai to make any changes to Elantra’s list of tech features for 2024. The compact sedan currently comes with an eight-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four audio speakers, Bluetooth, and two USB ports. Available features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, navigation, a wireless charging pad, and eight audio speakers.

We’re not sure what Hyundai has in store for the 2024 Elantra. The current Elantra is available with three powertrains that include a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 horsepower, a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that’s rated at 201 horsepower, and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 276 horsepower. The base engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission, while the 1.6-liter engine comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch. The performance-oriented Elantra N is available with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed dual-clutch. Hyundai should also offer an electrified version of the Elantra with the Elantra Hybrid.

With the current Hyundai Elantra coming with an extensive list of standard safety features, we don’t expect to see any changes for the 2024 model year. Features like blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping assist are all standard. Available safety features include adaptive cruise control, rear collision warning, and Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist.

Pricing & Release Date

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra could arrive in the U.S. later this fall. With an expected facelift, the 2024 model should cost more than the current Elantra which starts at $21,765 with destination.

The Hyundai Elantra competes against other compact sedans like the Nissan Sentra, Mazda3, Honda Civic, Volkswagen Jetta, Toyota Corolla, and Subaru Impreza.
