The Kia K5 was introduced in 2021 as an all-new model to replace the midsize Optima. With the sedan set to enter its fourth model year on sale, the K5 will reportedly receive a facelift. Kia hasn’t confirmed anything, but here’s what we expect to see with the 2024 Kia K5.

Heavily camouflaged Kia K5 sedans have been spotted overseas, hinting toward large changes to the sedan’s exterior design. Despite wearing heavy camouflage, we expect the 2024 K5’s front end to feature updated headlights, a new grille, and a revised front bumper. The rear end of the sedan that Kia was testing was obscured, though we could see new taillights and a slightly tweaked rear bumper.

We don't know what Kia has in store for the 2024 K5’s cabin. Kia could make small tweaks, like updated air vents, slightly redesigned center console controls, a revised steering wheel, and a new shift knob design, but we expect things to mostly remain the same on the inside.

We expect the 2024 Kia K5 to come with a lot of the same tech features as the current model that’s on sale. The K5 comes with an eight-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, six audio speakers, and four USB ports. Available features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a wireless charging pad, a Bose audio system, and navigation.

The current K5 is available with two powertrains. The base K5 comes with a turbo 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 180 horsepower. A turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s rated at 290 hp is available. The standard engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic, while the more powerful motor comes with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. These engines should be offered on the 2024 K5.

Kia offers a lengthy list of safety features on the K5, which we expect to go unchanged for 2024. Standard features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, a driver attention monitor, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Available features include reverse automatic emergency braking, intersection assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assist, parking sensors, and a surround-view parking camera.
