2024 Lexus RX Preview Preview, Pricing, Release Date

Model Preview
Lexus unveiled an all-new RX midsize SUV for the 2023 model year. With the 2024 model expected to arrive in the near future, we expect the 2024 Lexus RX to be a carryover model.
On the outside, we don’t expect the 2024 RX’s design to change much compared to the current SUV that’s on sale. The 2023 RX features a bold exterior design with a front end that has an enormous grille that flows directly into the front fascia, sharp headlights, and aggressive edges on the front air intake. The way the hood meets with the grille results in a protruding nose. At the back, the RX has a blacked-out D-pillar, an integrated roof spoiler, and a rounded liftgate. The SUV also has dramatic lighting with a horizontal piece connecting triangular taillights.
The interior design of the 2024 Lexus RX isn’t expected to change much over the current model that’s on sale. The RX boasts an upscale interior design with a tiered dashboard that connects to the door panels, a large central touchscreen that’s integrated into a single trim piece with the digital instrument cluster, and premium interior materials. The sporty F Sport Performance trims gain heavily bolstered front seats, large aluminum pedals, and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The current RX is only available as a two-row midsize SUV with five seats. We could see Lexus introduce a three-row model for 2024.
We'll email you as soon as the 2024 Lexus RX becomes available.
When it comes to tech features, the current RX comes standard with a 9.8-inch touchscreen, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker audio system, six USB ports, Bluetooth, satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. Available tech features include a 14-inch touchscreen, a virtual assistant, wireless charging, and a 21-speaker audio system. We expect these features to continue to be available for the 2024 model year.
Lexus offers the RX with multiple powertrains. The standard RX 350 comes standard with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 275 horsepower. The next step up is the hybrid RX 350h that comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. Output is combined at 246 hp. The RX 450h+ PHEV is a plug-in hybrid that has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and an 18.1-kWh battery pack for up to 302 hp. The range-topping RX 500h F Sport comes with a turbo 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor for a combined output of 366 hp. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is available. These powertrains should continue to be offered on the 2024 RX.
The Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 should continue to be standard on every 2024 RX. The suite includes features like forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam assist, traffic sign recognition, and safe exit assist. Available safety features include parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, park assist, a surround-view parking camera, traffic jam assist, and a head-up display.
Pricing & Release Date
Lexus hasn’t provided any official information on when the 2024 RX will come out or how much it will cost. We expect the midsize SUV to arrive later this fall and have a starting price tag that’s close to the current model. Pricing for the current RX ranges from $48,550 to $63,745 (with destination).
Upscale midsize SUVs are incredibly popular, so the RX will face strong competition from the BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne, Genesis GV80, Volvo XC90, Mercedes-Benz GLE, And Audi Q7.
