2024 Porsche Cayenne

Model Preview

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne will receive a substantial mid-generation refresh, which is not all that surprising since the model has been in production since 2017. In addition to aesthetic tweaks, Porsche’s flagship SUV will also see powertrain, chassis, and exterior upgrades. Here’s what we know so far.

The current Cayenne’s base engine is a 3.0L V6 developing 335 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. As reported by Car and Driver, updated engine management software for 2024 will boost those figures to 349 and 369, respectively. The top-of-the-range Turbo GT is powered by a twin-turbo V8 already making an immense 631 hp and gets 20 more ponies under the hood for 2024. The Cayenne E-Hybrid will also get a 10 hp increase thanks to a larger battery.

Those are pretty significant upgrades for a model-year refresh, but the most notable engine change is with the middle-of-the-range Cayenne S. The S is currently powered by an Audi-sourced 2.9L turbocharged V6 making 434 hp and 405 lb-ft. In a move that will surely delight enthusiasts, Porsche is giving the 2024 Cayenne S their 469 hp V8.

As previously mentioned, changes to the Cayenne aren’t limited to under the hood. A 12.7” curved instrument display and 12.3” infotainment screen inspired by the all-electric Taycan will be making their way into the Cayenne. The passenger will also have their own 10.9” screen, a la the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. A cooled wireless charging pad will also be available for 2024.

Porsche is also working to improve the already impressive driving dynamics of the Cayenne. Larger diameter tires and adaptive dampers will be standard throughout the model range. Cayenne’s fitted with the optional air suspension receive redesigned springs as well.

No release date for the 2024 Cayenne has been announced, but we’re expecting it later this year.

Pricing has also yet to be announced, but current Cayenne pricing starts at $73,650 and ranges up to a whopping $190,150 for the Turbo GT.

The 2024 Cayenne will compete with the BMW X5, Genesis GV80, and Volvo XC90.
