2024 RAM 1500 Classic Preview Specs, Price, Release Date

While RAM is busy getting ready to introduce the facelifted 2025 RAM 1500, the automaker continues to sell the RAM 1500 Classic, which is based on the previous generation. According to a tentative agreement between Stellantis and the UAW, the RAM 1500 Classic will continue to be sold through 2024. We’re not sure if that means the truck will be available for both MY24 and MY25. Here’s what we expect to see from the 2024 RAM 1500 Classic.

Unlike the 2025 RAM 1500, which received an updated design that makes it look more high-end, the RAM 1500 Classic looks like a dated, older truck. That’s because it dates back to 2009. The RAM 1500 Classic has a large oval grille, square headlights, and a stock bumper. A simple rear bumper and rectangular taillights are at the back. Unlike the RAM 1500, the Classic doesn’t have the same split-folding tailgate and it’s not available with RAM’s cargo bed storage compartment.

Just like the exterior design, the interior design of the RAM 1500 Classic is old compared to newer trucks on sale. The 2024 RAM 1500 Classic should retain the same interior design. The truck has a chunky center console with a small central touchscreen, large physical controls, and a simple dashboard. Compared to the RAM 1500, the RAM 1500 Classic is a work-oriented truck, so it’s not offered with the same premium materials or high-end convenience features.

RAM isn’t expected to change the 2024 1500 Classic’s list of tech features for the new model year. The truck has a five-inch touchscreen, six audio speakers, Bluetooth, and two USB ports as standard. Available features include an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an Alpine audio system. The 2025 RAM 1500 has far more advanced tech features, as it comes with a standard 12-inch touchscreen and is available with a 14.5-inch touchscreen, as well as a 10.25-inch passenger screen.

2024 RAM 1500 Classic Engine & Specs

RAM saves its more advanced and powerful engines for the 2025 RAM 1500. The 2024 RAM 1500 Classic should continue to come with more basic engines. Currently, the truck comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 305 horsepower and standard. A 5.7-liter V8 engine is available that makes 395 hp.

When properly equipped, the RAM 1500 Classic can tow up to 10,660 pounds. The updated 2025 RAM 1500 can tow up to 11,580 pounds.

2024 RAM 1500 Classic Safety

The 2024 RAM 1500 Classic doesn’t come with any advanced safety features as standard, though there is the required rearview camera. It’s not available with any modern driver-assist safety features, either. This is a sharp contrast to the 2025 RAM 1500, which is available with a plethora of advanced safety features.

2024 RAM 1500 Classic Price

Pricing for the 2024 RAM 1500 Classic hasn’t been announced yet. We don’t expect pricing to increase from the current model, as RAM isn’t expected to make any changes.

The RAM 1500 Classic competes against other full-size pickup trucks including the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Toyota Tundra, and GMC Sierra 1500.

2024 RAM 1500 Classic Release Date

As a 2024 model that’s not expected to receive any changes, the 2024 RAM 1500 Classic could arrive early next year. More information on the full-size pickup truck should become available within the next few months.
