2024 Subaru Ascent Preview Redesign, Pricing, Release Date

Redesign Info
Subaru introduced the Ascent for the 2019 model year. With the midsize SUV set to enter its sixth model year on sale, reports indicate that the Ascent could benefit from a redesign, but Subaru hasn’t confirmed anything yet. Here’s what we could see from the 2024 Ascent.
A redesign could see the 2024 Ascent arrive with a sharper, updated design. For a redesign, we expect the front end of the Ascent to share a lot of design elements from the updated 2024 Crosstrek. A similar redesign could see the midsize SUV arrive with sharper, triangular headlights, and a more angular front fascia. The rear end of the redesigned Ascent could arrive with updated taillights, a redesigned bumper, and a new liftgate design. The redesigned Ascent could grow in size and gain more rugged body cladding.
The interior of the 2024 Subaru Ascent could change if the SUV benefits from a redesign. The current Ascent already has Subaru’s latest design language, so we don’t know what the automaker could introduce with the redesign. We could see the midsize SUV arrive with an updated dashboard, new seats, and revised center console controls. A longer wheelbase and larger body could result in more interior space.
We'll email you as soon as the 2024 Subaru Ascent becomes available.
Last year, the Ascent arrived with Subaru’s latest tech features. The midsize SUV currently comes with an 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four USB ports, and six audio speakers. Available tech features include a Harman Kardon audio system and navigation. A redesign could see the Ascent arrive with updated tech features.
Subaru offers the current Ascent with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. The motor makes 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. A continuously variable automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard. We’re not sure what Subaru has in store for the redesigned Ascent. We expect the SUV to arrive with more power, though the Ascent is already one of Subaru’s more powerful models. Subaru could look to its partner Toyota for an electrified powertrain for the Ascent, which could come from the Highlander Hybrid. That SUV comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor for up to 243 hp.
The 2024 Ascent should continue to come with an extensive list of standard safety features for the new model year. Features like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam assist should be standard. Available safety features on the current SUV include blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, and reverse automatic emergency braking.
Pricing & Release Date
A redesigned 2024 Subaru Ascent could arrive as early as this summer and go on sale before the end of the year. A redesign would see pricing for the SUV rise compared to the current model's MSRP which ranges from $35,120 to $49,420 (with destination).
The highly popular midsize SUV segment includes options like the Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Toyota Highlander, Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, Honda Pilot, Nissan Pathfinder, and Volkswagen Atlas.
