2024 Toyota bZ3X Preview Price, Specs, Photos, Release Date
Toyota unveiled the “bZ Compact SUV Concept” at the 2022 LA Auto Show. We expect that model to eventually grow into the bZ3X (and likely a Lexus equivalent) as the automaker’s bZ line of EVs continues to grow. Not much about the bZ3X has been made public so far, but here’s what we do know about the all-electric crossover SUV.
Toyota was a little slower to get on the EV bandwagon than some of the other major automakers, but they have since embarked on their Beyond Zero initiative. They plan to release 30 EVs by 2030 and have set the lofty goal of becoming entirely carbon-neutral by 2050. In addition to electric powertrains, bZ vehicles will incorporate unique aerodynamics and recycled interior materials.
The bZ3X will occupy a smaller crossover segment than the existing bZ4X, not unlike the relationship between the gasoline-powered C-HR and RAV4. Assuming Toyota stays true to the concept, the bZ3X will adopt similar styling features to its larger sibling as well. It will feature angular yet smoothed-off lines and short overhangs for improved aerodynamics. The design language also borrows cues from the Crown sedan.
We'll email you as soon as the 2024 Toyota bZ3X becomes available.
Interior details are also yet to be finalized but expect a modern minimal design with no shortage of screens. One thing Toyota has revealed is Yui, an in-car “personal agent” that will be featured in upcoming bZ vehicles.
Range and powertrain details for the bZ3X are also a mystery at the moment. The bZ4X is currently being offered in front and all-wheel drive configurations, and up to a modest 215 horsepower with a maximum range of 252 miles. The bZ3X’s figures will likely be not too far off from those
We estimate bZ3X pricing will start around $40,000, as the larger bZ4X starts at $43,335. We expect the bZ3X to go on sale sometime in 2023.
