The Toyota Prius Prime arrived as a fully redesigned vehicle in 2023. Coming off of a recent redesign, we expect the 2024 Prius Prime to be a carryover model.
The Prius Prime arrived with a fresh design for 2023, which we believe will carry over unchanged for 2024. The current Prius Prime features a sleek design with c-shaped daytime running lights, a slim grille that sits between the headlights, and an oval air intake. The front fascia features smooth lines and rounded edges that flow into the fenders. At the back, the Premium prime features slim horizontal taillights, a built-in spoiler, and a rounded rear bumper.
Toyota’s designers gave the current Prius Prime an upscale design that should remain the same for 2024. The elongated dashboard has a simple overall design and a touchscreen that’s positioned on top of the dash. The center console features a row of physical controls, while the gear shifter is positioned in the middle of the center console and has a unique layout. The instrument cluster sits recessed in front of the driver close to the windshield.
The 2024 Prius Prime is expected to come with an eight-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six USB ports, a digital instrument cluster, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Available features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a wireless charging pad, and an eight-speaker JBL audio system.
Under the hood, the current Prius Prime comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. The PHEV comes with a lithium-ion battery pack that provides roughly 38 miles of all-electric range. The combined output is rated at 220 horsepower. Fuel economy and specifics on the Prius Prime’s powertrain for the 2023 model year aren’t available yet.
The current Prius Prime comes with Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 suite of advanced safety features as standard. The suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic jam assist, and automatic high-beam assist. Available safety features include a surround-view parking camera and automatic park assist. These features should be offered on the 2024 model.
