2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Preview Specs, Price, Release Date
What To Expect
The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is a carryover from the 2024 model, which received a major update. However, there is one new feature that you can get with the 2025 model that wasn't available this year – the Trail Boss package.
The addition of the Trail Boss package on the HD Silverados means that the off-road options package is now available across Silverado's entire lineup. According to Automotive News, the new Silverado HD will arrive with some new features in addition to the Trail Boss package.
The updated 2025 Silverado 2500HD will now feature front and rear park-assist as standard on the ZR2 and will have this as an option on the WT and LT trims. Adaptive cruise control is now standard on the High Country trim. A Black-Out package will be available for the Custom trim, while the Midnight Edition gets new 20-inch wheels.
We'll email you as soon as the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD becomes available.
2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Engine & Specs
As a carryover from the 2024 model, the 2025 HD will feature a 6.6-liter V8 engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. There will also reportedly be a 6.6-liter Diesel option that gives 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
We don't expect the dimensions to change from the 2024 model, which means the 2025 Silverado 2500HD should be able to haul plenty in either bed length – both a 6.75-foot and 8-foot bed are options. Towing depends on configuration and maxes out at 22,500 pounds when using a 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch.
2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Safety
Safety on the 2025 Silverado 2500HD should be the same as on the 2024 model. This includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a forward-distance indicator, an HD rearview camera, and automatic headlights.
Safety can be enhanced in various ways depending on trim and package choice. There is an optional safety package on the WT and Custom trims which includes blind spot detection, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The LT has a safety package that includes trailer provisions for the blind spot zone, HD surround-view cameras with one for the bed, and the trailering app which helps confirm certain safety functions of the trailer and allows additional cameras to be integrated into the infotainment display. The LTZ trim adds front parking sensors and a vibrating safety seat to its available Safety Package.
2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Price
No price has yet been announced for the upcoming 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, but as a carryover model, we expect it to sit around the same starting price point as the current model on sale which starts with an MSRP of $46,395.
New Trail Boss trims will be more expensive.
