What To Expect

The 2025 GMC Canyon will likely arrive with minimal change to its still-fresh design. The Canyon received a total makeover in 2023, gaining a modern interior, expanded tech features, and a new four-cylinder turbo.

The Canyon is a midsize pickup with seating for five and a 62-inch bed. Current standard equipment includes digital instrumentation, an 11.3-inch touchscreen, full LED exterior lighting, and built-in Google apps. The Denali trim emphasizes luxury and convenience, while the AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition offer serious off-road capability.

2025 GMC Canyon Engine & Specs

The Canyon will surely retain its turbocharged four-cylinder, which provides impressive pulling power for its size. The 2.7-liter engine makes 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is optional on the base Elevation trim and standard everywhere else.

The Canyon can tow up to 7,700 pounds and has a payload capacity of 1,640 pounds.

With rear-wheel drive, the Canyon is EPA-rated at 19 miles per gallon city, 23 mpg highway, and 20 combined. Adding 4WD shaves 1 mpg off the combined rating. The AT4X AEV Edition slides to 16 mpg combined due to its mud-terrain tires and other off-road hardware.

2025 GMC Canyon Safety

The current Canyon starts off with lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, and automatic emergency braking. Options for most trims include adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian detection, a head-up display, and surround-view cameras. These items are standard on the Denali.

The Canyon receives a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. IIHS crash-test results are still pending.

2025 GMC Canyon Price

Without major equipment additions, 2025 Canyon pricing will probably stay close to current levels, reflecting only the customary annual increase. For 2024, the Canyon starts at $37,595 including destination and climbs to $65,995 for the AT4X AEV Edition.

The Canyon competes with other midsize pickups like the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, and Nissan Frontier.
