2025 Honda Pilot Preview Specs, Price, Release Date

2025 Honda Pilot

What To Expect

Honda unveiled the all-new, fully redesigned Pilot in the 2023 model year. With this redesign came tons of change, starting with an all-new, more mature, and rugged exterior design. This new exterior design featured a large and upright grille, a striking horizontal beltline, and more aggressive fender flares. Honda also pulled the A-pillars rearward and lengthened the hood to give this SUV a sportier touch.

The all-new Pilot also grew, gaining a 3.4-inch-longer body and a lengthened wheelbase. Along with this longer body were unique grille, wheel, and trim options for the various trim levels, helping accent each trim’s personality, from the more youthful Sport model to the more elegant Touring trim.

The Pilot also took a step deeper into the off-road crowd with the new Trailsport model. This new trim arrived with a retuned all-wheel-drive system and a TrailWatch camera system to help it perform better off the beaten path.

Since it’s just a few years removed from a full redesign, we expect the 2025 Honda Pilot to hit showrooms relatively unchanged.

2025 Honda Pilot Engine & Specs

The full details of the 2025 Honda Pilot’s powertrain remain under wraps, but we expect it to carry over with no changes.

If it is indeed a carryover, we’ll see the 2025 Pilot arrive with the same 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. This power will route through a 10-speed automatic transmission on its way to the front wheels in the standard setup. However, buyers can opt for all-wheel drive for those needing extra traction.

2025 Honda Pilot Safety

The official details on the 2025 Honda Pilot’s safety and driver-assist features aren’t confirmed, but as with all Honda models, the current Pilot comes loaded with safety and driver-assist technology.

The current Pilot comes standard with automatic emergency braking, road-departure mitigation, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, traffic-sign recognition, traffic-jam assist, and auto high-beam headlights.

Buyers seeking even more features can get a blind-spot information system, rear cross-traffic monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and more in higher trim levels.

The current Pilot performed great in IIHS testing, earning “Good” ratings in all the original crash tests — it received a “Marginal” rating in the updated moderate front overlap crash test. It also received superior ratings for frontal crash prevention during the day and night. These ratings earned it Top Safety Pick+ honors — the IIHS’s top award.

2025 Honda Pilot Price

Pricing isn’t official yet on the 2025 Honda Pilot, but the 2024 model starts from $37,090 and tops out at $52,480 (destination fees not included). We could see some mild inflationary changes in this base pricing, though.

The 2025 Honda Pilot will compete with the Toyota Highlander, Kia Telluride, and Hyundai Palisade.

2025 Honda Pilot Release Date

Honda hasn’t announced the 2025 Pilot’s release date. However, based on the 2024 model’s release schedule, we expect the 2025 Honda Pilot in showrooms in the summer of 2024.

Please check back for updates as they become available.
