What To Expect

The 2025 Honda Prologue will likely enter its second year as the brand's only all-electric SUV without notable change. The Prologue is a significant step in the company's journey toward zero-emissions vehicle sales by 2040. Like the debut model, the 2025 Prologue promises up to 296 miles of range on a single charge.

The midsize Prologue offers seating for five and 25.2 cubic feet of cargo space. With the rear seat folded, the Prologue can hold up to 57.7 cubic feet of family gear. According to reports, Honda may offer an optional third row for seven-passenger capacity.

The carryover interior will come with standard features like an 11.3-inch touchscreen, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, a power driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and wireless phone charging and mirroring.

2025 Honda Prologue Engine & Specs

We expect the Prologue to continue in single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations. Front-drive models carry a front-mounted electric motor that develops 212 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. According to EPA estimates, this setup can travel up to 296 miles on a full charge and delivers 107 MPGe in combined city and highway driving.

The available AWD powertrain features front and rear electric motors that currently produce 288 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque. Range dips slightly to 281 miles, and efficiency eases to 101 MPGe combined. The line-topping Elite trim, which comes with the dual-motor system only, has an estimated range of 273 miles and is EPA-rated at 99 MPGe combined.

Honda states the Prologue's 85-kWh battery pack gains 65 miles of range in about 10 minutes at a Level 3 public charging station. Honda offers the Prologue with a Level 2 home charger and a $500 installation credit. The bundle also includes a $100 credit at EVgo charging stations and, for first-time EV buyers, a 60kWh credit at Electrify America. Buyers can swap the complimentary home charger for a $300 EVgo credit.

The HondaLink smartphone app links with EVgo and Electrify America to help drivers find stations and pay for charging.

2025 Honda Prologue Safety

The Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistance features will certainly come standard on the 2025 Prologue. The bundle includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking. In addition, every Prologue will likely continue with automatic rear cross-traffic braking, blind zone steering assist, and rear pedestrian alert.

Honda has indicated it is targeting an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation and an NHTSA five-star overall safety rating for the Prologue. We'll report back when testing is complete.

2025 Honda Prologue Price

Pricing of the 2025 Honda Prologue is still pending. We expect only a modest inflationary increase over current levels. The single-motor 2024 Prologue's MSRP starts in EX trim at $48,795 including destination and goes to $53,095 for the Touring trim. Dual-motor models range from $50,400 for the EX to $57,900 for the fully loaded Elite.

2025 Honda Prologue Release Date

We expect the 2025 Honda Prologue to be available for order by the end of 2024, with the first batch of vehicles arriving at dealers in early 2025. We will provide more details on the upcoming 2025 Prologue closer to the release date.

The Prologue competes with midsize electric SUVs and crossovers like the Kia EV9, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Chevrolet Blazer EV, and Nissan Ariya.
