Since 2022, reports have speculated that the compact Cherokee could arrive with a redesign in 2025. At one point, Jeep even confirmed that the next-gen Cherokee, which is reportedly codenamed the KM, would be “bigger and better than ever” and will be electrified. We still don’t have a lot of information on the upcoming 2025 Jeep Cherokee, but believe the SUV will be redesigned.

We haven’t seen images of Jeep testing upcoming Cherokee prototypes and don’t have any concrete information on what kind of design the 2025 model will have. The Cherokee has Jeep’s older design language with a rounded front end. Based on Jeep’s newer SUVs, like the Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer, we could see the Cherokee arrive with a boxier design.

The interior design of the Cherokee features a dated design that’s in need of an update. We expect the SUV to arrive with an updated design with a new dashboard, HVAC controls, and center console. We could see Jeep move to using a rotary dial for the transmission instead of a traditional shifter.

We don’t know what’s in store for the 2025 Cherokee on the tech front. We expect the SUV to receive Jeep’s latest version of Uconnect and larger touchscreens. Beyond that, feature content is unknown.

At the moment, all we know is that the 2025 Cherokee will have some sort of electrification. We think a hybrid or a plug-in hybrid powertrain are the two obvious choices for Jeep. At the moment, the Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe are the two SUVs that come with plug-in hybrid powertrains. Both SUVs come with a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with two electric motors for 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Both SUVs come with a 17-kWh battery pack. We could see the 2025 Cherokee utilize this powertrain.

The current Cherokee comes with a lengthy list of standard safety features that include blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and lane departure warning, We expect the 2025 Cherokee to continue to be available with the latest safety features.
