What To Expect

The 2025 Kia K5 arrives with some large changes for the new model year. Kia’s midsize sedan receives updated exterior styling, new tech features, and a new powertrain. Here’s what we expect to see from the 2025 Kia K5.

On the outside, the 2025 Kia K5 arrives with refreshed exterior styling. The midsize sedan gains slightly updated headlights, a restyled front bumper, and a larger front air intake. At the back, the K5 wears more aggressive rear taillights with a triangular design, a revised rear fascia, updated exhaust outlets, and a new trunk lid design. The changes don’t do a lot, but they maintain the K5’s look as one of the more aggressive sedans in the segment.

The 2025 Kia K5’s interior design has also been updated for the new model year. The midsize sedan’s dashboard has been revised to account for new screens that are integrated into a single panel. The K5’s dashboard also has a new design for the air vents that appear to span the full width of the dash, while the sedan’s HVAC and car controls have gone from being physical to touch-capacitive. They also sit lower down on the center console than before.

2025 Kia K5 Engine & Specs

The 2025 Kia K5 gets an updated powertrain lineup. Kia has ditched the turbo 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine in favor of a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine is on all K5 models except for the GT.

Power is rated at 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive is optional on the GT-Line trim.

The GT trim will continue to come with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The GT trim is only available with FWD.

2025 Kia K5 Safety

We don’t expect to see any major changes to the 2025 Kia K5’s list of safety features. The sedan is expected to continue to come with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, a driver attention monitor, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and automatic high-beam assist. Available safety features should include reverse automatic emergency braking, a surround-view camera, parking sensors, highway driving assist, and intersection assist.

2025 Kia K5 Price

Pricing for the 2025 Kia K5 hasn’t been announced yet. Based on the changes, pricing for the 2025 model should be higher than the current K5 that’s on sale. Pricing for the K5 currently ranges from $26,745 to $33,145.

Competitors in the midsize segment include the Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Subaru Legacy, Volkswagen Passat, and Hyundai Sonata.
