2025 MINI Hardtop Redesign Info & Release Date

Model Preview
The 2025 Mini Cooper Hardtop is arriving as a fully redesigned vehicle for the new model year. We don’t have a lot of information on the upcoming hatchback, but here’s what shoppers can expect to see from the new Cooper Hardtop.
Mini hasn’t released any official figures for the gas-powered 2025 Cooper Hardtop yet. The automaker has released photos of the all-electric Cooper Electric, which we expect to have a similar design to the gas-powered model that will arrive at a later date.
The Mini Cooper Hardtop will retain the same overall shape as the current model that’s on sale and has similar design elements. The small hatchback will have round headlights with round daytime running lights, a round front trim piece that envelops the grille and front air intake, and smooth front fenders.
We'll email you as soon as the 2025 MINI Hardtop becomes available.
The rear end of the Cooper Hardtop will feature updated triangular taillights, a central horizontal bar on the liftgate with the model designation, and a rounded rear bumper. The overall look of the 2025 Cooper Hardtop is expected to be sleeker than the current model which has a more bulbous shape.
The 2025 Mini Cooper Hardtop is getting a more modern interior design for the new model year. From the pictures that Mini has released of the electric Cooper Electric, the Cooper Hardtop will have a circular central display that looks like it’s floating in front of the rounded dashboard.
The hatchback’s head-up display will be positioned at the base of the windshield to give the dash a streamlined look. The hatchback’s center console will feature toggle switches. We don’t expect interior space to change dramatically, as the 2025 Cooper Hardtop will be similar in size to the current model that’s on sale.
At the moment, we know that the 2025 Mini Cooper Hardtop will come with a central OLED display with a 9.4-inch diameter, the new Mini Operating System 9, and a new Mini Intelligent Personal Assistant that can be activated by saying “Hey Mini.” We expect Bluetooth, a wireless charging pad, navigation, and a high-end audio system to be available.
Mini has only released information about the 2025 Cooper Hardtop Electric’s powertrain. The base Cooper Electric will come with a single electric motor that makes 181 horsepower, while a 215-hp electric motor will be available. Mini claims the larger electric motor brings a zero-to-62 mph time of 6.7 seconds. A dual-motor configuration with 313 hp is rumored to be offered. The Cooper Electric will be available with a 40.7 kWh battery pack or a 54.2 kWh battery pack. The hatchback is expected to have a range of up to 200 miles.
While Mini hasn’t confirmed any powertrain details for the 2025 Cooper Hardtop, we expect the current model’s engines to be available. They could arrive with slight performance and fuel economy updates. The gas-powered Cooper Hardtop should be available with a turbo 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. An eight-speed automatic transmission is expected to be standard.
We don’t have official information on what kind of safety features the 2025 Mini Cooper Hardtop will come with. We expect the hatchback to build off of the current model, which comes with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and parking sensors as standard.
