Model Preview

With Subaru introducing a fully redesigned Crosstrek for the 2024 model year, we expect the 2025 Crosstrek to be a carryover model without any major changes. Here’s what you can expect to see with the 2025 Subaru Crosstrek.

Since the design of the Subaru Crosstrek was overhauled in 2024, the 2025 Crosstrek is expected to arrive without any major exterior changes. The Crosstrek will continue to have a rugged design with a robust front bumper, sharp headlights, a small oval grille, and prominent lines on the hood. Rugged body cladding throughout the lower portion of the Crosstrek’s body makes it look more durable than other subcompact SUVs. The rear end of the Crosstrek features C-shaped taillights that wrap around the side of the body, an angular rear bumper, and a relatively tall liftgate.

Subaru didn’t radically alter the Crosstrek’s design for the 2024 redesign and the 2025 model is expected to retain the same overall look as the current SUV that’s on sale. The Crosstrek has a tiered dashboard design, vertically oriented air vents, and durable materials. Lower trim levels have two centra displays that are incorporated in a single trim piece, while other models have a single, vertically oriented display. Simple controls and an emphasis on usability give the Crosstrek a more rugged look than its rivals.

Subaru Crosstrek

The 2025 Subaru Crosstrek should come with the same tech features as the current model that’s on sale. The subcompact crossover comes with dual seven-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, satellite radio, four audio speakers, a USB port, and a 4.2-inch driver information display. Available tech features include an 11.6-inch touchscreen, navigation, 10 audio speakers, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a wireless charging pad.

There are two available engines for the current Crosstrek, which we expect to stick around for the 2025 model year. The base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is available and is rated at 182 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come with a continuously variable automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. These engines should go unchanged for 2025.

Subaru offers the current Crosstrek with an impressive list of standard safety features. The subcompact SUV comes with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam assist, and evasive steering assist standard. Safety features include blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic emergency braking, and reverse collision warning. The 2025 Subaru Crosstrek should continue to come with the same safety features.

Pricing & Release Date

We expect the 2025 Subaru Crosstrek to go on sale in the summer of 2024 based on this year's schedule. Without any changes, pricing for the Crosstrek should continue to range from $26,290 to $32,190.

Other subcompact SUVs in the segment include the Volkswagen Taos, Mazda CX-30, Hyundai Kona, Kia Niro, Honda HR-V, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Kia Seltos, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Chevrolet Trax.
