Redesign Info

Recently, a new Volkswagen vehicle has been seen and photographed while being test driven in the Austrian Alps and there is no mistaking it for anything other than the newest Tiguan. In the pictures, the new 2025 Tiguan is uncamouflaged and shows a bit of a new look on full display. Though the compact SUV is a brand top-seller, with the introduction of the Taos and the ever-growing SUV segment, it makes sense that VW would want to give it a refresh to keep it in the public’s eye.

The spy shots of the new Tiguan indicate that the refresh may bring an upgraded front end with a new front fascia and new lighting. There appears to also be a slightly newer shape to the rear of the car where it gets a little wider, though nothing overly noticeable. Overall, the vehicle appears like it will be keeping much of its familiar shape. Unfortunately, there are no available photos of the interior of the compact SUV. We imagine it will have a newer infotainment system with a bigger screen, but we’ll have to wait and see what else would be in store. As VW has been trying to bring the Tiguan’s competitiveness even further up the ranks in the market, it is likely that the automaker will give the new model its newest driver-assist and safety technology as well.

The new Tiguan is expected to be the last version that is powered by an internal combustion engine. This isn’t surprising, since much of the market is moving on to EVs. We don’t know for sure what will be under the hood, but it may carryover the current model’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque.

Pricing & Release Date

This Volkswagen Tiguan is due to arrive in the U.S. sometime in 2025. Though an exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, it is expected that the refreshed compact SUV will be available in the European and Chinese markets before coming stateside.

We don’t have word on the official pricing for the 2025 Tiguan, but given the upgrades, it will likely be more than the current model’s MSRP of $27,885.

Compact SUVs are a growing segment in the industry and while this model won’t come out for a few more years, it will have competition like the GMC Terrain, Jeep Cherokee, Nissan Rogue, Ford Escape, Hyundai Tucson, and Mazda CX-50.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
