2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Preview Redesign Info & Release Date

According to an agreement that Stellantis made with the UAW, the next generation of the Grand Cherokee is set to arrive in 2027. Beyond confirming that a new Grand Cherokee is in the works, details on the midsize SUV are scarce.

Beyond expecting an all-new design, we don’t know what’s in store for the 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the design front. The current midsize SUV has an upscale design that maintains Jeep’s rugged character. The current Grand Cherokee has slim headlights, a seven-slot grille, a wide air intake, and a chunky front fender. The rear end of the SUV has thin taillights, an upright liftgate, and dual exhausts that are integrated into the bumper. An available black roof gives the Grand Cherokee a further upscale touch.

We expect the 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee to have an updated design compared to the current SUV that’s on sale. The current Grand Cherokee has a premium look with three available screens, a flowing dashboard design, and upscale materials. We’re not sure how Jeep will improve on the next-gen Grand Cherokee, but we expect an even more modern interior design and more high-end touches. We also expect the three-row Grand Cherokee L to have a more spacious cabin than the current model that’s on sale.

2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine & Specs

Details on what kind of powertrains the 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee will come with aren’t available yet. Stellantis has confirmed that the SUV will be available with gas-powered and all-electric powertrains. The current Grand Cherokee is available with a 293-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine or a plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain. The latter includes a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with an electric motor and a 14-kWh battery pack. Combined output is rated at 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

The three-row Grand Cherokee L is available with a 290-hp V6 engine or a 357-hp V8.

Jeep hasn’t announced pricing for the 2027 Grand Cherokee yet. Pricing should be announced closer to the vehicle’s on sale date. Since the next-gen Grand Cherokee is expected to be a 2027 model, we could be waiting a few years for pricing information.
