In the hopes of getting drivers to overlook the Fiat 500X’s hate-it-or-love-it styling, the automaker has introduced a new model to the subcompact crossover’s lineup with the 500X Urbana Edition. As its name implies, the new model helps bring an urban look for drivers wanting to add an extra dose of personality to their vehicle.
Based on the 500X Trekking model, the Urbana Edition features various black touches on the outside and inside to help differentiate it from other models. A unique paint scheme is the most obvious addition for the new model, with the 500X Urbana Edition featuring a Miron (Metallic Iron) paint scheme with copper accents. For drivers that aren’t a fan of the fancy paint job, four other paint schemes are available – Grigio Graphite (Graphite Gray), Blue Sky Metallic, Bianco Gelato (White Clear Coat), and Nero Cinema (Black Clear Coat).
Besides the special paint job, the 500X Urbana Edition has black-painted mirror caps, tail-lamp surrounds, door handles, fascias, liftgate bezel, as well as copper-accented sill moldings that are fitted with the 500X logo. The black-on-black take doesn’t end there, though, as the 18-inch Miron wheels are finished in matte black with a copper center cap, while the roof rails and headlamp surround round out the black touches on the exterior.
As you’ve probably guessed by now, the interior of the 500X Urbana Edition has its own fair share of black touches, which include bespoke black chevron-patterned seats with the 500 logo in copper, a black-painted center console, Miron-painted radio and vent bezels, as well as a black textured instrument panel with a copper 500 logo.
The 500X Urbana Edition is available as a $845 package on both the front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive 500X Trekking models, which are priced at $24,345 (all prices include the $995 destination fee) and $26,245 respectively. The new model will go on sale later this year with a starting price tag of $25,190 for a front-wheel-drive model.
