The GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are unapologetically large and luxurious SUVs. As luxury vehicles, the design of the SUVs have always erred toward the conservative side, which is something the automaker is looking to change with new Graphite Editions for the 2019 model year.

The Yukon Graphite Edition is only available on SLT trims and can be added to Yukon or Yukon XL models with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Going with the Graphite Edition brings a variety of exterior touches, including 22-inch machined wheels, black trim on the grille and the fog light surrounds, black assist steps, black roof rails, gloss black beltline moldings, and some other black touches.

A Yukon Graphite Performance Edition is also being offered, which adds a dose of athleticism on top of the regular Graphite Edition's blacked-out exterior touches. On the powertrain front, it adds a 6.2-liter V8 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Magnetic Ride Control is also included with the package, as is a 3.23 axle ratio, 22-inch, six-spoke black wheels, and a 170-amp alternator.

Other additions on the performance variant include: a trailer brake controller, Bose Active Noise Cancellation, a multi-color head-up display, an eight-inch reconfigurable driver information center, and an eight-inch color touchscreen system with navigation. Lastly, going with a four-wheel-drive model brings an active two-speed transfer case.

The Yukon Graphite Performance Edition sounds similar to the RST Package that Chevrolet offers on the Tahoe and Suburban. Seeing as how those have been a massive hit for Chevrolet, we're sure the new Graphite Editions will also appeal to consumers that want a little more attitude from their luxury SUV.

Pricing hasn't been announced yet for the Graphite Editions, but they'll go on sale later this summer.
