Hyundai designed a more athletic SUV.

Hyundai is introducing a redesigned Santa Fe SUV next month at the Geneva International Motor Show. The automaker released the first photos of the mid-size SUV ahead of its debut, which shows an elegant SUV.

The design is more athletic than the outgoing model, with Hyundai's cascading grille and thin-slit headlights dominating the front of the SUV. The front-end styling looks similar to that on the compact Kona crossover. The images shown are of the three-row model. Hyundai will likely introduce a two-row Santa Fe Sport just like it offers now.

Along with an exterior photo, the automaker also gives a peek at fully redesigned cabin. The infotainment screen now sits atop the dashboard with the vents below the screen as opposed to beside it. Hyundai redesigned the center console along with the instrument cluster.

Hyundai is packing its Santa Fe with loads of technology; however, the automaker isn't giving many details. One system that is coming is rear cross traffic alert with integrated automatic emergency braking. Another system Hyundai is introducing is Rear Occupant Alert, which will alert the driver when exiting the vehicle if there's an occupant in the rear seat.

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe should go on sale in later this year.
