Shortly after introducing the Lexus ES Black Line Special Edition, the Japanese luxury automaker has decided to expand the limited-edition model to the 2021 RX. The Black Line Special Edition will be incredibly limited and, unlike a lot of other limited-edition trims, will be available in two powertrains.

Both the RX 350 and RX 450h F Sport trims will be available with the Black Line Special Editions. This is the first time Lexus has offered two different powertrains for one of its Black Line Special Edition models. Only 750 units of the RX 350 F Sport will be available, while the RX 450h F Sport is even more limited with just 250 units.

Both Black Line Special Editions will be available in one of two colors – Ultra White or Grecian Water, which is an all-new shade for the model year – and come with 20-inch black wheels, black wheel locks, a black grille surround, and black body side graphics. These come in addition to the F Sport’s unique front and rear bumpers, badges, and black mirrors. On the inside, there are black seats with white accents and blue stitching, along with special key gloves with blue stitching, floormats, and cargo mat. Consumers will also find a perforated leather-wrapped shift knob, aluminum trim, aluminum pedals, and the unique instrument cluster, which are all part of the F Sport trim’s standard list of features.

Additionally, the RX Black Line Special Editions will come with a customized set of travel cases that were made by Zero Halliburton. The two travel cases have an interior lining with a Lexus grille motif and an embossed leather badge of Lexus’ logo. The cases will be mailed to consumers.

Pricing for the RX F Sport Black Line starts at $50,635 (not including destination) and $51,885 for the RX 450h Black Line. That’s an increase of $2,685 for the RX 350 F Sport Black Line and $1,285 for the RX 450h Black Line. Those prices aren’t extravagant for an extremely limited vehicle that adds some more pizzaz to an aggressively designed SUV. Offering the Black Line Special Edition with two powertrains should make it more attractive to consumers, as the limited-edition vehicle has only been available with one powertrain so far.

For the 2021 model year, Lexus will offer the ES, RX, RX Hybrid, and NX Hybrid with Black Line Editions. All of the Black Line Editions are offered on the F Sport models. Previously, Lexus offered a Black Line Edition for the NX, IS, GS, and RC F.

Blacked-out packages have become popular recently, with multiple automakers offering dark trim pieces, black wheels, and dark paint schemes in a special package. So, we’re sure the RX Black Line Special Edition will be popular. Plus, Lexus claims the new editions were created based on feedback it received from dealers and guests and have features that were highly requested. For consumers that are fans of the way the RX Black Line Special Editions look, they’re available for purchase at the time of writing.
