Buick is expanding its top-tier Avenir sub-brand with the introduction of the 2018 LaCrosse Avenir. This is the second Avenir vehicle offered, joining the 2018 Buick Enclave SUV, which went on sale last month.
The LaCrosse Avenir wears a unique three-dimensional mesh grille split with chrome wings and the Buick badge in the center. Exclusive 19-inch Pearl Nickel wheels are standard with 20-inch Midnight Silver wheels optional. Another styling feature is the Avenir-script badging on the lower front doors.
“Exterior styling is very important to LaCrosse buyers, and its sculpted beauty withstands passing trends,” says Bob Boniface, global director of Buick Exterior Design. “For Avenir, we focused on maintaining the timelessness of the LaCrosse, while giving these customers subtle and tasteful details that elevate this car to a new level.”
Inside, a chestnut interior color theme is exclusive to the LaCrosse Avenir trim along with embroidered first-row headrest, and Avenir-scripted sill plates. Standard features include navigation, a Bose Centerpoint surround audio system, and a panoramic sunroof. An optional ebony interior is also available.
Stylistically enhanced it may be, but the LaCrosse Avenir features the same powertrain as last year's range-topping model. Under the hood sits a 3.6-liter V6 engine making 310 horsepower that comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive and the Dynamic Drive Package, which features continuous variable dampening control and advanced safety features, are also both available.
The 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir arrives at dealers in early 2018.
