The first month of the new year for auto sales was huge and easily exceeded analyst expectations, helped mainly by a combination of low fuel prices, solid incentives and pent-up demand from value shoppers. The big sellers for the top six manufacturers were crossovers and light trucks from six key manufacturers, including Chevrolet and Subaru, which enjoyed the biggest gain (24%) of all with their extremely popular and well-engineered 2015 Outback and 2015 Forester.
