With new competition coming in the form of the Chevrolet Silverado EV, Ford has decided that now is a good time to make the F-150 Lightning more affordable. According to a bulletin that the American automaker sent to dealerships, the 2024 Ford Lightning is getting a price cut by as much as $5,500 in the form of a “pricing action.” The price changes for the electric truck went into effect on April 5th.

The price changes for the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning are as follows:

  • Pro (Standard Range): Unchanged at $54,995
  • XLT (Standard Range): -$2,000 to $62,995
  • Flash (Extended Range): -$5,500 to $67,995
  • Lariat (Extended Range): -$2,500 to $76,995
  • Platinum (Extended Range): Unchanged at $84,995

These are hefty price cuts for the F-150 Lightning and make the pickup truck a more attractive option for drivers who are interested in purchasing an EV. The Flash trim with the Extended Range battery pack sees the large price cut that sees the trim go from $73,495 to $67,995. The Lariat’s price decrease of $2,500 is also noteworthy and it sees the trim go from $79,45 to $76,995.

Shoppers looking to purchase an F-150 Lightning should keep in mind that the electric pickup truck is eligible for the full $7,500 federal tax credit as long as its MSRP excluding destination is less than $80,000. The price changes should make it easier for shoppers looking to buy an F-150 Lightning Lariat to take advantage of the full federal tax credit.

Recently, Ford has had an aggressive selldown of its inventory of 2023 F-150 Lightning models, as it looks to get shoppers into the 2024 model. The latest F-150 Lightning gains a new Platinum Black model at the top of the range and a new Flash trim in the middle of the lineup. Standard keyless entry and BlueCruise 1.2, as well as a revised ProPower onboard generator round out the changes for the 2024 model year.
