2024 Polestar 2

Before the end of January, Polestar stopped accepting customer orders for the all-electric 2 sedan. At the time, the automaker confirmed that it stopped accepting new factory orders for the compact EV because of “high demand.” With the middle of May quickly approaching, Polestar still hasn’t started accepting orders for the 2 yet.

Polestar spokesperson Mike Ofiara recently confirmed that the automaker still doesn’t have an ETA on when it will start accepting customer orders again for the Polestar 2. That means that interested shoppers will have to continue to shop from Polestar’s current inventory or wait. How long buyers will have to wait for Polestar to start accepting orders for custom orders to become available again is anyone’s guess.

A quick visit to Polestar’s inventory site reveals that the automaker has approximately 76 available Polestar 2 models in Southern California. Pricing ranges from $50,450 to $62,150. Vehicles range from having an “Immediate” estimated delivery date to “Early in June.”

While not being able to custom order a Polestar 2 may dissuade some shoppers. Polestar’s offers for the 2 EV have become considerably more aggressive this month. We were able to find a lease deal for the 2024 Polestar 2 for $299 per month for 27 months with $3,299 due at signing that’s available until the end of May. This deal was for the Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor model.

This is one of the better deals we’ve seen for the Polestar 2. The effective monthly payment with this deal is $421, undercutting Tesla’s available lease deal for the 2024 Model 3 Long Range by $133 a month. Polestar isn't accepting customer orders for the Polestar 2, but Tesla is. And Tesla is quoting an estimated delivery date as quickly as this month (May) for new Model 3 orders.

While shoppers may want to wait to get their perfect Polestar 2, the latest lease deal for the electric car reveals how the automaker is trying to make its existing inventory of Polestar 2 sedans as attractive as possible to shoppers.
