2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV

After a few setbacks, some price changes, and a release plan that saw fleet customers get trucks well before commercial customers, the Chevrolet Silverado EV is finally ready for commercial shoppers. Chevy has announced how much the Silverado EV RST First Edition will cost and what kind of range the electric truck will have.

Chevrolet has confirmed that the Silverado EV RST First Edition will start at $96,395 with the $1,895 destination fee. While that’s a high starting price for a pickup truck from Chevrolet, it’s nearly $10,000 less than the automaker’s proposed price tag for the pickup truck from two years ago. Consumers who purchase a Silverado EV RST First Edition are also getting more range than originally thought.

Originally, Chevrolet claimed that the flagship Silverado EV trim would have up to 400 miles of range. Now, Chevy is stating that the RST First Edition will actually have up to 440 miles of range. The new range estimate makes the RST First Edition the second Silverado EV with the longest range. It trails the 4WT trim that’s rated at up to 450 miles.

Other specifications for the Silverado EV RST First Edition are expected to remain the same. The pickup truck should have 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque thanks to dual electric motors. The RST First Edition will be able to get to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and will come with all-wheel drive. Towing capacity maxes out at 10,000 pounds, while the truck has a payload capacity of up to 1,300 pounds.

With a starting price tag of $96,395, the Silverado EV RST First Edition is being priced as a luxurious all-electric pickup truck. The truck, though, backs up the high price tag with standard features that include a 17-inch touchscreen, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 14-inch multi-color head-up display. The RST First Edition also comes with four-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, a Multi-Flex Midgate, and the Super Cruise driver-assist system that also works when towing cargo.

The Silverado EV RST First Edition’s official starting price tag of $96,305 makes it fit in with other pricey electric trucks on sale. The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum Black Special Edition ($100,090), Tesla Cyberbeast ($96,390 without destination), and Rivian R1T ($99,650 in the right configuration) all cost more than the RST First Edition. The GMC Hummer EV 3X Omega Limited Edition Pickup is one of the pricier options, as it costs $140,300.

With a range of up to 440 miles, the RST First Edition has the most range of any all-electric truck on the market. The F-150 Lightning maxes out at 320 miles, R1T has 410 miles of range, GMC Hummer EV Pickup has 381 miles of range, and Cybertruck offers up to 340 miles of range.

Delivers of the 2024 Silverado EV RST First Edition are set to begin in the middle of 2024.
