The cost to buy a new Acura just went up. According to bulletins sent to dealers on Tuesday, just about every one of the brand's luxury vehicles is $800 more expensive. The increases affect three models from the brand's 2022 lineup: the ILX, RDX, and MDX. Here's a quick look at the changes you'll see in January.
Acura ILX - MSRP increased $800 from $27,545 to $28,345 including a destination fee of $1,045.
Acura RDX - Now starts at $41,145, an $800 price increase from $40,345.
Acura MDX - Base MSRP now $49,045, $800 more than the previous price of $48,245.
If you're in the market to buy a new Acura, an $800 price hike may not seem like much. However, our review of Acura's latest lease deals finds that prices are significantly more expensive. For example, the 2022 RDX now has an effective cost of $577/month, more expensive than deals on a $49,000 Lexus RX.
Although the 2022 TLX is unaffected, the car's initial lease prices are absurdly expensive. Even in base form, Acura's advertised lease comes in at $439 for 36 months with $3,999 at signing, an effective cost of $550/month. To put that into perspective, that's more expensive than a $40,000 Volvo S60 lease ($528).
Separately, Honda's mainline brand raised prices up to $750. Price increases aren't uncommon around this time of year, and it's likely that shoppers will find a mix of prices on Acura window stickers. Since the changes aren't retroactive, shoppers can expect the increases to affect cars invoiced starting on January 4th.
