Ford Bronco Raptor SUV on highway

When Ford introduced the Bronco Raptor in 2022, it raised the SUV’s performance bar by a wide margin. An extra-wide, ultra-high-performance, and high-flying SUV built for speed, the Bronco Raptor is an off-roading enthusiast’s dream. At $86,580 (prices don’t include destination), the 2023 Bronco Raptor isn’t exactly cheap. Shoppers, though, can get the high-performance SUV with a large price cut of up to $6,000 off the MSRP.

On June 3rd, Ford implemented “repricing actions” on the remaining 2023 Bronco inventory and shared the news with dealers through a bulletin that was shared on Tuesday. The $6,000 price cut on the SUV brings the 2023 Bronco Raptor’s starting MSRP down to $80,580.

The bulletin that Ford sent to dealerships doesn’t provide a reason for the price cut. We believe Ford’s decision to cut pricing for the 2023 Bronco Raptor is due to the automaker’s large available inventory, which continues to plague dealerships across the country. According to national inventory data, there are approximately 4,000 2023 Broncos still in stock. Nearly 23%, which comes out to over 930 units, of those are Bronco Raptors.

2023 Ford Bronco Raptor discount listing

While Ford is giving shoppers $6,000 off the Bronco Raptor, we’ve found some dealerships offering even larger discounts. At a dealer in Ohio, the high-performance SUV was listed yesterday with a discount of nearly $10,000 off MSRP. Today, the discount is worth barely $4,000, likely as a result of the MSRP price cut. Shoppers could find great deals on a 2023 Bronco Raptor, but they may need to shop around and be willing to travel or pay for shipping.

Interestingly, Ford pointed toward the 2023 Bronco Raptor’s price increase since it originally went on sale. Based on the SUV’s “price level” history, it initially launched with a starting price tag of $83,580, then it received a massive price increase to $86,080, and then another small increase to $86,580. Now, it’s officially down to $80,580.

In addition to excess inventory being a reason for the price cut, we also suspect that Ford realized the 2023 Bronco Raptor was overpriced. While a few wealthy enthusiasts are willing to pay $86,000 for a high-performance Bronco, it’s a niche vehicle aimed at a very specific buyer. Dropping the SUV’s pricing helps it be more competitively priced, as Ford refers to the price change as “competitive MSRP changes.”

New shoppers may be able to score a good deal on a 2023 Bronco Raptor, but there’s some bad news for current owners. Unfortunately, there’s no indication that Ford will compensate shoppers who already purchased one.

Shoppers who aren’t interested in purchasing the 2023 Bronco Raptor can find good deals on other 2023 Bronco trims. At the beginning of the year, Ford launched a lease deal for the 2023 Bronco with a rate of 7.5% for 36 months. In March, Ford introduced a $1,000 incentive for the 2023 Bronco in selection regions of the country. Then in April, we found that Ford had cut lease prices for the SUV three times in a single month. On April 25, the 36-month lease rate for the 2023 Bronco was just 3.6%.

We’ve found plenty of great deals for the 2023 Bronco this year, marking a great time to purchase a model.
