The Ram 1500 TRX finally has some real competition with the release of the Ford F-150 Raptor R. To bring some attention back to its high-performance dune basher, Ram has introduced a new limited-edition Havoc Edition. While the TRX didn’t need any help standing out, the new Havoc Edition makes the truck about as subtle as a high visibility firetruck with its yellow paint.
Currently, the 2023 1500 TRX is only available in two monotone paint jobs: diamond black crystal and Mojave sand. Consumers have six different two-tone colors to explore, but the automaker’s monotone line leaves a lot to be desired. If you’re a fan of bright yellow, the new Havoc Edition will fit the bill, as the whole truck is finished in Prowler Yellow.
Look past the yellow paint job and you’ll notice the Havoc Edition comes with 18-inch bead-lock capable wheels, a spray-in bedliner, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a LED light in the bed, and cargo tie-downs. On the inside, the special truck gets Prowler Yellow accent stitching, “TRX” embroidered into the back of the seats, unique carbon fiber accents, and a special badge on the center-console lid.
The real draw of the Havoc Edition is the bright yellow paint, but the limited-edition truck also comes with the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group package that makes it as luxurious as possible. Things like a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, leather upholstery, a heads-up display, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, a wireless charging pad, a heated steering wheel, and a digital rearview mirror.
Configuring a 2023 Ram 1500 with a base paint job and the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group package costs $96,080 with destination. With that in mind, the Havoc Edition’s starting price tag of $106,445 doesn’t sound too egregious. Ram didn’t provide an official number for how many TRX Havoc Editions it will build, but the truck will go on sale early next year.
