2024 Ford Mustang

With the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger gone, the Ford Mustang is the only pony car on sale from an American brand that provides drivers with a traditional sports car experience. That gives Ford some leeway to price the Mustang and its optional packages. According to a bulletin that Ford recently sent to dealers, prices for some of the Mustang’s available packages are going up. The price increases went into effect on June 17, 2024, as part of a mid-year pricing action for the 2024 Mustang.

As part of the mid-year pricing action, the 2024 Ford Mustang’s GT Performance Package, Nite Pony Package, and Bronze Appearance Package are all going up in price. We found Ford’s price increases to be unusual. Usually, an automaker would simply increase the base price of the vehicle instead of raising the price of specific packages. Information in the bulletin, though, reveals that this is Ford’s latest nickel-and-dime tactic that affects other vehicles like the 2024 F-150, 2024 Maverick, and 2025 Explorer.

Pricing for the GT Performance Package has gone up by $300 to $5,295. It’s available on Mustang GT models with the 5.0-liter V8 engine and brings a host of performance upgrades with 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, a front tow hook, a hand-operated parking brake, heavy-duty front springs, a K-brace, a performance-oriented rear spoiler, a Torsen differential, unique chasing tuning, unique stability control, and an upgraded rear sway bar. The package is aimed at enthusiasts or drivers who want extra performance from their V8-powered Mustang.

The Nite Pony Package is available throughout the lineup, except for the high-performance Dark Horse models, and has gone up by $200. It’s now priced at $1,395 and includes 19-inch black wheels, black badges, black mirror caps, a black roof, black bezels for the headlamps, and a black rear spoiler. This package is for drivers who want a Mustang with a slightly more aggressive design.

Lastly, the Bronze Appearance Package, which is available on EcoBoost and GT Premium trims, has gone up by $100 to $1,095. It includes 19-inch bronze-painted wheels, larger tires, and bronze badges. The Bronze Appearance Package is a pricey appearance package for shoppers who want a hint of bronze on their Mustangs.
