Recently, Ford has been absorbed with mid-year price adjustments. We’ve seen the automaker introduce mid-year price adjustments for vehicles like the 2025 Ford Explorer, as well as the 2024 Ford Mustang, F-150, Maverick, Bronco, and Bronco Sport. The latest vehicles to get a price increase are the 2024 F-Series Super Duty and Transit.

Ford sent a bulletin outlining the price changes for the Super Duty and Transit. For the 2024 Super Duty, the 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel engine option is now $500 more than before and the 6.7-liter High Output Power Stroke turbo-diesel engine has received a price increase of $500. With the price increases, the 6.8-liter turbo-diesel V8 becomes a $10,495 option and the high-output version is now priced at $12,995.

For the Transit, Ford is increasing the price of the commercial van. The Cargo Van RWD model has gone up by $275, the Incomplete Vehicle price has increased by $475, and the Passenger Van gets a hefty $1,200 price hike. An “Incomplete Vehicle” is one that needs to be upfitted to be driven on the road. We believe this designation belongs to the Transit CC-CA model.

With the price increase, the Transit Van now has a starting MSRP of $47,165 (prices don’t include destination) and the Passenger Van costs $53,965. The Transit CC-CA costs $42,895.

These price increases, at least for the Transit, are some of the highest mid-year price adjustments we’ve seen from Ford. The automaker has introduced a nickel-and-dime tactic to squeeze even more money out of shoppers where it’s charging $50 more for options, but the price increases for the 2024 Super Duty and Transit are too large to go unnoticed.

The price hikes went into effect on July 1, 2024, and affect the 2024 Ford Super Duty and Transit. Pricing has been updated on Ford’s website. Ford didn’t provide any information on why it introduced mid-year price hikes on the models, but it could be because there’s very little competition.

The only real competitor to the Transit is the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and the Super Duty lineup faces off against Ram, Chevrolet, and GMC’s heavy-duty options. It’s a similar situation with the Mustang. A lack of competition gives Ford the freedom to increase prices, leaving consumers to foot the higher bill or look elsewhere.
