2024 Honda HR-V

Honda’s most affordable SUV, the subcompact HR-V is getting a slight price increase for the 2025 model year. Based on the OEM pricing guide for the SUV, the 2025 Honda HR-V is going up by $500 to $25,100 (prices don’t include destination). While the 2025 HR-V is going up in pricing, it continues to be the cheapest SUV in Honda’s lineup.

The HR-V will continue to be offered in three trims for 2025: LX, Sport, and EX-L. The $25,100 figure is for the LX, while the Sport starts at $27,200 and the EX-L is priced at $29,200. These prices represent a $500 increase throughout the entire lineup. All-wheel drive costs an extra $1,500.

With the price increase, the HR-V is now $4,400 less than the CR-V, which is still a wide margin for a subcompact SUV and a compact SUV. We doubt the price increase will lead some shoppers to look into purchasing a CR-V, as that model starts at $29,500.

Honda didn’t provide any information on why pricing for the 2025 HR-V has gone up, so we suspect that the increase is due to the higher associated costs of manufacturing vehicles. We do wish Honda would have added a few extra features, even if it raised the HR-V’s price higher to bring shoppers extra value.

The 2025 HR-V’s price increase makes the SUV one of the more expensive options in the subcompact segment. The Kia Seltos ($24,490), Mazda CX-30 ($24,995), Hyundai Kona ($24,250), Volkswagen Taos ($23,995), Chevrolet Trailblazer ($23,100), and Toyota Corolla Cross ($23,860) are all more affordable than the HR-V. The Buick Encore GX ($25,600), Subaru Crosstrek ($25,195), and Jeep Renegade ($28,345) are more expensive than the HR-V.

The HR-V will continue to come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. The SUV comes with a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive as standard. The base LX trim should come with a seven-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, LED headlights, automatic climate control, and push-button start as standard.
