2023 Honda Civic

Consumers shopping for a new 2023 Honda will find that prices have gone up for the new model year. Unlike most automakers that have hiked up prices throughout the entire range, Honda is only raising prices on a few models but is also making changes to its destination fee and the price of its premium paint colors.

According to Honda dealer pricing guides, the 2023 Civic sedan, hatchback, Si, and Type R, Honda CR-V, and Honda CR-V Hybrid are getting price increases of $400 for the new model year. As far as price increases go, this is one of the more modest ones we’ve seen recently.

Honda will be charging shoppers an extra $60 to get one of its premium paint colors. The price affects the Civic sedan, hatchback, Si, Type R; CR-V and CR-V Hybrid; Passport; Pilot; Odyssey; and Ridgeline. Premium paint colors include Platinum White Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic II, Sonic Gray Pearl, and Morning Mist Metallic.

Lastly, the destination fee for the 2023 HR-V, CR-V, Passport, Pilot, Ridgeline, and Odyssey has gone up. For the HR-V and the CR-V, the destination fee for 2023 is $1,295. Honda will be charging a $1,345 destination fee for the 2023 Passport, Pilot, Ridgeline, and Odyssey. The good news is that the current destination fee of $1,095 remains the same on Honda cars.

As we said, Honda’s price increases aren’t nearly as high as ones we’ve seen from other automakers for the 2023 model year. BMW is raising the prices of most of its vehicles by at least $1,000, Ford hiked the price of the F-150 Lightning by $4,000, and the Chevrolet Corvette became $2,300 more expensive for the 2023 model year. While seeing Honda raise prices is disheartening, they’re reasonable increases.

The automaker didn’t provide any information on the price increase, but we suspect that they’re because of supply chain constraints and the rising costs of materials.
