Ten years ago, Lexus introduced the IS F, the first model from the company's F performance sub-brand. Since then, there have been several “F” models, including the LFA supercar. To celebrate, Lexus is introducing two 10th anniversary editions of the RC F and GS F cars later this summer.
Lexus is limiting the number of special editions it will produce. The automaker will only build 240 RC F coupes and 100 GS F sedans with each wearing matte gray paint, which Lexus last used on its LFA. Blue brake calipers, 19-inch wheels, and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires complete the exterior.
Inside, both the RC F and GS F receive blue leather seats along with blue carbon fiber trim and a serialized production plate. The blue theme continues for both vehicles. The GS F sedan receives blue leather bolsters, blue seatbelts, and a blue suede dash. The RC F receives a blue steering wheel, blue shift knob, and embossed headliner.
Lexus did not announce any performance upgrades. A 5.0-liter V8 engine making 467 horsepower powers both the RC F and GS F 10th anniversary edition models. Both models have an eight-speed automatic transmission.
No pricing information is available yet for the two special edition models. Lexus will unveil the cars at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show later this week.
