For the 2015 model year, the Mazda MX-5 Miata underwent a life-changing redesign. It not only experienced a transformation in terms of looks, but it also got a little smaller and dropped around 200 pounds of heft. Today, Mazda announced that the U.K. will be treated to a special version of the roadster dubbed the Sport Recaro Limited Edition.

This model, which is based on the MX-5 Sport Nav, doesn’t have any over-the-top modifications, but it does have its own look-good bits that set it apart. These include a body kit with rocker panel extensions, front and rear air dams, and a rear spoiler all coated in Brilliant Black. A set of 17-inch diamond-cut wheels with engraved “MX-5” logos help complete the look.

Inside the cabin, this limited model will gain a set of exclusive Recaro seats and a numbered plaque.

Being based on the Sport Nav trim level, this limited-edition model has plenty of standard features. The feature list includes navigation, a premium Bose sound system, navigation, and a 160 PS (158-horsepower) four-cylinder engine. This also means it has a perfect 50-50 weight distribution that contributes to its outstanding capabilities in the corners.

Mazda will limit this model to just 600 units, all of which will be coated in either Soul Red Metallic or Ceramic Metallic. Each unit will start out at £24,295 (just under $37,000 at today's exchange rate).

Unfortunately, there is no mention of this special model making its way to U.S. shores, but we have plenty of special MX-5s to choose from here. What’s more, there are great lease deals on the 2016 MX-5 Miata, and bonus cash for current Miata owners.
