Radiator Springs Racers Attraction at Disney World to Coincide with Cars 2 Release

March 18, 2013

A new car-related ride is coming to Disney World in 2012 and it is called Radiator Springs Racers.

Car lovers and fans of Disney will be happy to hear that Disney World will also dedicate a section of the park to the promotion of the Pixar film Cars 2 when the movie is released in 2011. Cars 2 is the sequel of the Pixar film Cars, released in 2006. It will be a computer animated 3-D movie starring Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Cheech Marin, Bonnie Hunt, Tony Shalhoub and John Ratzenberger. The 2006 movie had some pretty heavy stars in it who have since passed away, including George Carlin and Paul Newman.

The baby boomer generation may remember bumper car rides attracting our attention as kids at large and small theme parks around the country. However, now there are more to the car-related theme then a few cars with over-sized bumpers that can take a wack.

At the end of October, an entire theme park dedicated to the Ferrari -- Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi -- will be opening. There are 20 rides, all of which have some connection to Ferrari. For example, the park has the fastest roller coaster in the world that gives riders the feeling that they are in a Ferrari F1, a G-Force experience that shoots you up over 62 meters through the roof of the park and back down to the ground, racing simulators similar to what are used by the Ferrari racing team, a driving and racing school, a 4-D experience in an attraction called "Speed of Magic," a virtual trip through the Ferrari factory, and a ride through a 12-cylinder engine.
