Jeep's most expensive Gladiator is getting a price increase, a recent dealer order guide reveals. Starting this month, the 2020 Gladiator Rubicon starts at $45,370 after a destination fee of $1,495. Previously, the range-topping trim started at $45,040, which equates to a $330 price hike.

The Rubicon is the only trim affected by an increase, although there appear to be no additions in terms of standard equipment. With the optional 8-speed automatic, the truck now starts at $47,040 — $1,000 more than a similarly-equipped 2020 4-door Wrangler Rubicon.

We reached out to a Jeep spokesperson for comment but have yet to hear back.

At $47,040, the Rubicon will almost be as expensive as the recently-updated 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro ($47,785 with automatic). Both remain considerably pricier than vehicles like the 2020 Chevy Colorado ZR2 ($44,095) or even the GMC Canyon Denali (From $45,095).

While a $330 price hike probably won't deter truck enthusiasts, it certainly doesn't make it any easier to stomach the higher lease prices we've observed in recent months. To make matters worse, the brand specifically excluded the Gladiator Rubicon from a loyalty discount introduced last month.

Those looking for a deal should be aware that Jeep's new Employee Pricing promo offers nearly $7,800 in savings on models like the Grand Cherokee but excludes both the Wrangler and Gladiator. As a result, shoppers will likely have to rely on their negotiation skills to score a good price.
