Highlights:

Mustang Mach-E Tax Credit
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is currently eligible for a $3,750 tax credit. However, this isn't a rebate, so be sure to check with a tax professional to see if you qualify.
Although the Mustang Mach-E used to offer a $7,500 tax credit, it was cut in half when new guidelines took effect with the Inflation Reduction Act.
That may be unfortunate, but it's also important to know that Ford Credit kept the $7,500 tax credit on leases since the Mach-E was launched.
Mach-E EV Rebates
The Ford Mustang Mach-E remains eligible for plug-in rebates in some parts of the country.
Mach-E buyers and lessees in California can enjoy a $2,000 Clean Vehicle Rebate. While there's also a Clean Fuel Reward normally worth an extra $750, the amount was temporarily reduced to $0 quite a while back. We don't know when the offer will return.
If you happen to live in the state of Colorado, the Innovative Motor Vehicle Credit offers a $5,000 tax credit. However, since the rules and restrictions for these types of programs can be complex, we suggest speaking with a tax professional to determine your eligibility.
Ford Mach-E Price Changes
The Ford Mustang Mach-E has seen significant price increases and price cuts during its time on the market.
Most recently, Ford cut Mach-E prices by up to $4,000 in May of 2023. The biggest change was on the GT trim, and brought the Mach-E's starting price down to $42,995.
Prior to that, Ford cut Mach-E prices by up to $5,900 in February of 2023. The biggest Mach-E price cuts were on the GT Extended Range, and were made due to improvements in battery production.
For the 2022 model year, prices increased by up to $3,000 not long after the Mach-E was first introduced.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E doesn't have a normal invoice price like other cars on the market. Instead, Ford uses something called an e-invoice that rewards dealers for other factors like customer satisfaction and delivery performance.
As a result, dealers may not have the traditional "wiggle room" to negotiate on price. This could result in buyers paying MSRP (or higher). We recommend keeping this in mind when setting expectations on how much to spend on a Mach-E.
Mustang Mach-E Markups
Limited availability resulted in Mustang Mach-E markups across many parts of the country. Although not all dealers have markups, high demand could make it hard to get a discount.
At one point, we saw Mach-E wait times hit 32 weeks for certain trims. Your results may vary, so check with your dealer.
Mach-E inventory tripled in the summer of 2023, potentially increasing a buyer's ability to get a deal.
Mach-E Options Plan vs. Lease
When the Mach-E was first launched, Ford Credit kept the federal tax credit for itself. Instead, the company promoted a lease-like program called Ford Options Plan.
Ford Options Plan offers a way for consumers to claim the tax credit and enjoy lower payments than a purchase. It also offers the flexibility to either buy your vehicle once the contract is up, or return it. In some cases, Ford Options Plan could be a good deal.
Fortunately, Ford Mach-E leasing has gotten better over time. In July of 2023, Mach-E lease rates were cut to virtually 0% APR. What's more, Ford brought back the purchase option on Mach-E leases. A year earlier, Ford eliminated Mach-E lease buyouts. This could be a good thing if you wanted the flexibility to buy your Mach-E at the end of your lease.
Mustang Mach-E Plan Pricing
Ford Plan Pricing offers a way to get haggle-free savings on a variety of vehicles. The best part is that the popular Mustang Mach-E is eligible.
Whether it's the biggest discount possible under Ford A-Plan for employees, or X-Plan partner pricing for suppliers and those with affiliated companies, these can be some of the best ways to pay under MSRP for a Mustang Mach-E.
This type of discount can sometimes be extended to friends and family using special PIN numbers. As a result, it probably can't hurt to ask your friends on social media if they work for a company that qualifies for Ford Plan Pricing.

What's New
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E arrives with minor changes for the new model year. The electric SUV sees a slight increase in range for the Premium trim that can now travel up to 290 miles. The available California Route 1 trim is now only available with all-wheel drive. Ford has made its Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced safety features as standard. Lastly, there’s a new Mustang Nite Pony package that’s available on the Premium and GT Performance models.
Choosing Your Ford Mustang Mach-E
Ford will offer the 2023 Mach-E in five trims: Select, Premium, California Route 1, GT, and GT Performance Edition. Pricing ranges from $48,195 to $77,195 with destination. Consumers will notice that pricing has gone up by $3,200 for the Select and $14,100 for the GT Performance Edition.
As before, the Mach-E is eligible for a $7,500 EV tax credit and applicable state plug-in incentives.
Engine Choices
The 2023 Mach-E is available in multiple powertrain configurations that are based on two batteries. There’s the 70-kWh Standard Range Battery pack and the 91-kWh Extend Range Battery pack. The powertrains are then split by rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.
AWD is an extra $2,700 and brings an additional 50-kW electric motor on the front wheels. For 2023, the Extended Range Battery pack costs $8,600.
When plugged into a DC fast charging station, a Mach-E with the Extended Range Battery pack can go from 10% to 80% in 45 minutes and add 60 miles of range in 10 min. Charging the Mach-E using the Ford Connected charging station, the Mach-E can go from 0% to 100% in roughly 11 hours.

Extended 91 kWh | AWD | GT Performance Edition | 260 | 480 hp | 634 lb-ft |
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The 2023 Ford Mach-E offers seating for up to five people across two rows of seats. Because of the SUV’s heavily raked roofline, the SUV is tight on rear headroom with just 39.3 inches but offers a decent amount of rear legroom at 38 inches.
The roofline also eats into overall cargo space, as the Mach-E has 29.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and a total of 59.7 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded.
Safety Features
Every Mach-E comes standard with Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced safety features. It includes pedestrian detection, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, evasive steering assist, intersection assist, automatic high-beam assist, and rear parking sensors.
The Premium trim and above come with Ford’s hands-free driver-assist system that’s called BlueCruise. They also come with a surround-view parking camera.
Connectivity
Ford packs the Mach-E with a long list of standard tech features. The electric SUV comes with a 15.5-inch touchscreen that’s running Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system. Other standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a wireless charging pad, four USB ports, six audio speakers, and satellite radio. The Mach-E also comes with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
A 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system is standard starting with the Premium trim.
2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select – MSRP From $48,195
The base Mach-E kicks things off with 18-inch wheels, a manual liftgate, keyless entry, LED headlights, LED taillights with sequential turn signals, heated exterior mirrors, and body-color mirrors. The cabin features dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, synthetic leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and push-button start.
2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium – MSRP From $56,275
Consumers will find more upscale convenience features with the Premium trim. It includes 19-inch wheels, a hands-free liftgate, a power-adjustable passenger’s seat, acoustically insulated front windows, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and multi-color ambient lighting.
2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 – MSRP From $64,875
Confusingly, the California Route 1 trim is closely related to the Premium but is only available with the Extended Range Battery pack and AWD. It also comes with unique 18-inch wheels and loses the power liftgate.
2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT – MSRP From $71,195
For extra performance, there’s the GT trim. In addition to the more powerful powertrain, the GT also comes with 20-inch wheels, red brake calipers, sport suspension, a black grille, a black roof, sport seats, suede upholstery inserts, and unique front and rear fascias.
2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition – MSRP From $77,195
Don’t think the GT has enough performance? The Performance Edition is technically an available package on the GT that brings an extra bit of torque, unique 20-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, and sport front seats with extra bolstering.
Compare Mustang Mach-E Trims Side-By-Side
The large price increases for the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E make it more important than ever to stick with one of the SUV’s lower trims. The Premium stands out as the best option, as it’s available with both battery packs, RWD, and AWD. Additionally, it adds some niceties like a premium audio system, a panoramic sunroof, and more powerful fast-charging capability.
