The 2022 Tesla Model X rolls into the new model year with an incredibly minor change – the Long Range moniker for the standard model has been dropped. Range for the Model X has decreased for 2022, too. The base model is rated at 351 miles, while the Plaid can travel 333 miles on a single charge.

Engine Choices
Tesla offers the Model X with two different configurations. All SUVs come standard with all-wheel drive, a single-speed direct-drive transmission, and a 100-kWh battery pack.
Beyond range, the main difference between the two powertrains is performance. The base Model X can get to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 149 mph. The Plaid trim brings supercar acceleration with a zero-to-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds
When properly equipped, the Model X can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Towing with the electric SUV greatly affects its range.

Passenger and Cargo Capacity
As standard, the Model X offers seating for up to five people. The SUV is available with a third row that boosts seating capacity to six or seven people. Across both the front trunk and cargo area, the Model X offers a total of 91 cubic feet of cargo space.
Safety Features
Every Model X comes standard with Tesla’s AutoPilot system that combines adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure warning to handle most driving tasks on the highway. Other standard features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, a surround-view parking camera, blind-spot monitoring, and parking sensors.
The $12,000 Full Self-Driving Capability package brings Navigate on Autopilot, automatic lane change, automatic parking, Tesla’s Summon feature, a full self-driving computer, and traffic light and stop sign control.
Connectivity
Tesla includes a 17-inch touchscreen as standard for the Model X. The touchscreen adds to features like navigation, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, two USB ports, Bluetooth, 17 audio speakers, satellite radio, an HD Radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and a wireless charging pad. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are notably absent.
2022 Tesla Model X – MSRP From $122,690
Standard features with the base Model X include synthetic leather upholstery 20-inch wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, air suspension, tri-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, a heated steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof.
Adding 22-inch wheels costs $5,500. The six-seat configuration is priced at $6,500 and the seven-passenger layout is an extra $3,500.
