2022 BMW 7-Series - Exclusive Ashburn New Car Discounts

The 2022 BMW 7-Series continues as the ultimate BMW luxury sedan, packing all the performance and amenities buyers expect in this league. The current 7-Series debuted in 2018 and received a major refresh for 2020. It's essentially unchanged for the 2022 model year.

The BMW 7-Series is once again available in five trim levels: 740i, 745e, 750i, Alpina B7, and M760i. Pricing starts at $87,795 including destination and stretches to $158,795 for the fully-loaded M760i.

Choosing the 745e plug-in hybrid (PHEV) can get you access to a $5,836 federal tax credit. Additionally, there are state plug-in rebates like the California Clean Fuel Reward (worth $1,167).

Each 7-Series trim gets its own engine, ranging from a six-cylinder turbo to a twin-turbo V12.

The 740i starts out with rear-wheel drive, and BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system is available for $3,000. xDrive is standard on the other trims. An eight-speed automatic transmission serves all models.

Thanks to its plug-in hybrid technology, the 740e can travel up to 17 miles on electricity alone.

The 7-Series is a full-size luxury sedan with room for five to stretch out. The gas version boasts an 18.2 cubic-foot trunk, an excellent showing for a passenger car. The trunk in the 745e measures 14.8 cubic feet to allow room for the battery pack.

As expected for this class, the 7-Series comes with a full complement of standard driver assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive LED headlights, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, parking sensors, and a surround-view camera.

The Driving Assistant Professional Package ($1,700) adds a semi-autonomous driving system and adaptive cruise control. This package is standard on the Alpina B7. A head-up display is included in the $3,000 Premium Package for six-cylinder models, and comes standard on the others.

Fob-controlled self-parking is available on all trims except the 745e for $850.

The 7-Series comes standard with a sophisticated infotainment setup that includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen with gesture controls, navigation, satellite and HD radio, wireless device charging, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound system.

Buyers can upgrade to a Bowers and Wilkerson Diamond sound system for $3,400. A dual-screen rear entertainment system costs $2,700.

The 740i starts off with Dakota leather upholstery, wood interior trim, heated 20-way power front seats, heated armrests, a heated power-adjustable steering wheel, soft-close doors, four-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Other features include a hands-free power trunk lid, an adaptive air suspension, automatic wipers, remote start, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

In addition to the head-up display, the $3,000 Premium Package adds Nappa leather seating and power rear sunshades. The Executive Package ($2,500) tops off the 740i will an enlarged sunroof with LED lighting, ventilated front seats, leather dash trim, and ceramic controls.

Buyers looking for even more exclusively can select the Interior Design Package ($1,800) with a sueded headliner, plush rear floormats, and addition wood trim in back. The Luxury Rear Seating Package ($3,900) is designed with chauffeured travel in mind. Rear amenities include a 7-inch touchscreen, heated armrests, and heated and ventilated power seats with massage function.

Finally, the $4,100 Autobahn Package adds four-wheel steering and Road Preview, which scans the road surface ahead and adjusts the suspension accordingly.

The plug-in hybrid 7-Series shares its equipment and options with the 740i, except the Autobahn Package isn't offered.

The 750i takes performance to a new level with its twin-turbo V8 engine. The Premium Package is standard, along with 19-inch wheels. Models equipped with the Executive Package and Luxury Rear Seat Package are eligible for the $5,750 Rear Executive Lounge Seat Package, which adds a reclining passenger-side rear seat with power footrest, the rear entertainment system, and a folding table.

The Alpina gets the 600-hp V8 engine, plus exclusive suspension and exhaust tuning. The body wears unique trim and 20-inch wheels. The Executive Package is standard at this level, but the Autobahn Package drops away in favor of the Alpina B7's special suspension setup.

The top-performing M760i lays claim to the V12 engine and the full M Sport treatment, which includes a performance suspension, an upgraded exhaust system, an aerodynamic power kit, and special trim throughout. The rear amenity packages remain available.
