2020 Civic is nearly sold out:
The 2020 Honda Civic remains a strong seller, but it's nearly sold out. This month, the Civic continues with all the same offers it had last month, including a handful of attractive promotional leases and an unadvertised cash incentive.
The 2021 Civic is hitting showrooms now, but it lacks the Si trim and coupe. The Si is simply taking a year off, but the Civic Coupe appears to be gone forever. The 2021 Civic continues with all the same offers this month.
The Type R model, which is hard to find, continues with high markups and isn't included in any of the mentioned promotional offers.
If you're waiting on the next-generation Civic, Honda gave us a glimpse of it with a new prototype boasting a more Accord-like look. Honda plans to a full 2022 Civic reveal in the spring of 2021.
Offers listed here are available regionally through March 1, 2021. Assume all offers are available in Southern California unless noted otherwise. We may see a few new deals around President's Day, so check back for updates.

All Civic lease offers comes with an allowance of 10,000 miles per year (2,000-mile reduction). They are available in California and other select states.
Cash incentives remain:

APR offers remain:
The 2020 Honda Civic continues with 0% APR for 60 months to 0.9% for 72 months in California. If you're outside California, you can get 0.9% APR for 60 months and 1.9% APR for 72 months.
The 2021 Civic also has APR offers, and they range from 1.9% APR for 60 months to 2.9% APR for 72 months.
While competing brands sometimes offer 84-month financing at low rates, Honda's offers tend to be relatively conservative.

What's New
The 2021 Honda Civic continues with minimal changes. The coupe body style and sporty Si trim are gone from the lineup. The Si is expected to return for 2022, when the Civic will receive a total redesign. The racy Type R is now available in Special Edition trim with enhanced tuning and an eye-catching color scheme. The current Civic debuted in 2016.
Choosing Your Honda Civic
The Civic is available in seven trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring, Sport Touring, and Type R. The sedan is available in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Type R form, while the hatchback is offered in LX, Sport, EX, and Sport Touring form.
Pricing starts at $22,005 including destination for the LX sedan and tops out at $38,450 for the Type R.
Engine Choices
The Civic sedan in LX and Sport trim is powered by a normally aspirated four-cylinder engine. The other sedan trims carry a turbocharged four-cylinder, which also serves as the standard engine for the hatchback. A high-output 2.0-liter turbo-four is exclusive is the Type R.
Engine Type | Horsepower | Torque | Fuel Economy (Combined) |
2.0L 4-Cylinder | 158 hp | 138 lb-ft | 33 mpg |
1.5L Turbo 4-Cylinder | 174 hp | 162 lb-ft | 36 mpg |
2.0L Turbo 4-Cylinder | 306 hp | 295 lb-ft | 25 mpg |
Every Civic sedan comes with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which is also used on the LX and EX hatchbacks. The CVT comes with paddle shifters on the Sport, Touring, and Sport Touring trims.
The Sport and Sport Touring hatchbacks come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, and the CVT is optional at $800. These models also get a 180-hp version of the 1.5-liter turbo. The Type R is available with a performance-tuned six-speed manual only.
All Civics are front-wheel drive.
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The Civic is a compact with legitimate room for five passengers. The sedan's trunk holds 14.7 cubic feet, a healthy amount for this class.
As expected, the hatchback does much better in terms of versatility. There's 25.7 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat, and 46.2 cubic feet with it folded.
Safety Features
The Civic comes standard with a full complement of driver assistance features, including lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Blind-spot monitoring, which Honda calls Lane Watch, is standard starting with the EX.
The Civic receives a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.
Connectivity
The Civic LX carries a basic infotainment system with a 5-inch touchscreen, four audio speakers, and a USB port. Moving up to the Sport brings a 7-inch touchscreen, eight speakers, and Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. The EX adds satellite radio, HD radio, and a second USB port.
The sedan's Touring trim gets navigation, a 10-speaker audio system, and wireless device charging. The Sport Touring trim for the hatchback tacks on two additional speakers. These features are also standard on the Type R.
The Civic LX comes basics like a cloth interior, a folding rear seat, and automatic single-zone climate control. The sedan rides on 16-inch steel wheels with full covers, while the hatchback gets 16-inch alloy wheels.
The Sport gains 18-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, fog lights, push button start, proximity key access, sport pedals, a split-folding rear seat, dual exhaust outlets, and a gloss black rear spoiler.
The EX adds several desirable bits, including a sunroof, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver seat, heated side mirrors, and dual zone climate control. The EX also carries a body-color spoiler and 17-inch wheels.
Available in sedan form only, the EX-L receives leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a universal home remote.
Also exclusive to the sedan, the Touring furnishes heated rear seats, chrome door handles, automatic wipers, LED headlights, side mirror turn signals, 18-inch wheels, and a four-way power passenger seat – plus the upgraded infotainment system with navigation.
The Sport Touring trim for the hatchback combines the Touring upgrades with the more aggressive appearance of the Sport model.
The Type R hatchback moves into performance territory with its 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, an adaptive sport suspension, a limited-slip differential, upgraded brakes, and 20-inch black wheels. The body wears a wing-type rear spoiler. Seats are clad in sueded black fabric with red accents. Non-performance equipment is shared with Sport Touring.
The new Type R Limited Edition ($44,950) receives special suspension and steering tuning, forged aluminum wheels, exclusive Phoenix Yellow paint, and weight reduction measurer that save 46 pounds.
Compare Civic Trims Side-By-Side
The 2021 Honda Civic LX is really too austere for today's market. The Sport feels more like a complete car, but we still think the EX provides the best value of the bunch.
