What's New
Beyond small changes, the 2023 INFINITI Q50 enters the new model year without any major improvements. The changes that did take place include an available illuminated INFINITI grille emblem, a new Saddle Brown interior option, and a three-year complimentary maintenance plan.
INFINITI has let the current generation of the Q50 that came out in 2014 languish without any large changes, leading to a vehicle that’s not as competitive as it once was.
Choosing Your INFINITI Q50
The Q50 is available in three trims: Luxe, Sensory, and Red Sport. Pricing for the entry-level Luxe starts at $43,725 (with destination), while the sporty Red Sport starts at $57,575. Adding all-wheel drive (AWD) to any trim raises the vehicle’s price tag by $2,000.
Engine Choices
Every Q50 comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine. INFINITI offers the V6 engine in two different states of tune. The Luxe and Sensory trims share the same engine, while the Red Sport gets a more powerful version.
The Q50 comes with rear-wheel drive as standard and is available with AWD. Both engines come with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Seeing a turbocharged V6 engine as standard equipment on a luxurious compact sedan is a rare sight and even the Q50’s base engine offers plenty of grunt. The Red Sport is far more powerful, though it’s not nearly as powerful as some of its competitors’ performance models. The fact that the Red Sport nearly has the same fuel economy as the base engine with 100 extra horsepower is impressive.
Engine Type | Horsepower | Torque | Fuel Economy (Combined) |
3.0L V6 | 300 hp | 295 lb-ft | 23 mpg (RWD) 22 mpg (AWD) |
3.0L V6 RED SPORT | 400 hp | 350 lb-ft | 22 mpg (RWD) 22 mpg (AWD) |
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
Five passengers can fit inside the Q50, while the sedan offers up to 13.5 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk.
Safety Features
INFINITI offers the Q50 with an extensive list of standard safety features. The Q50’s roster of standard equipment includes forward collision warning, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view parking camera.
Connectivity
The Q50 is still one of the few vehicles on the market to have a two-screen-infotainment system. There’s an 8-inch upper touchscreen and a 7-inch lower touchscreen. The upper screen is used as the infotainment display, while the lower screen is used to control vehicle settings. Other standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 16-speaker Bose audio system, satellite radio, an HD Radio, navigation, and Bluetooth.
2023 INFINITI Q50 Luxe – MSRP From $43,725
The Q50 Luxe comes well-equipped with a lot of premium features. The base sedan comes with heated and auto-dimming exterior mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, a moonroof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, and eight-way power-adjustable front seats.
INFINITI doesn’t offer any optional features on the Luxe trim.
2023 INFINITI Q50 Sensory – MSRP From $49,425
The Sensory adds summer tires, sport seats, an air purifier system, interior ambient lighting, wood trim, a sporty body kit, and 19-inch wheels.
An INFINITI Radiant Grille Emblem costs $485.
2023 INFINITI Q50 Red Sport 400 – MSRP From $57,575
The range-topping Red Sport 400 trim comes with the more powerful V6 engine, adaptive suspension, upgraded brakes, premium leather upholstery, paddle shifters, power-adjustable side bolsters for the driver’s seat, red contrast stitching, brushed satin exhaust tips, exclusive wheels, and dark chrome accents.
Compare Q50 Trims Side-By-Side
With the 2023 INFINITI Q50 lacking the same high-tech features as some of its competitors, its real strength is its value. Because of that, we think the entry-level Luxe trim is the best option for most consumers. It comes with plenty of features and the upgrade to AWD is worth the extra $2,000.
