2022 Kia EV6 Arriving

The Kia EV6 is the brand's newest EV and is arriving at dealerships. Prices start at $42,115 including destination, although this doesn't reflect manufacturer incentives or plug-in rebates. Despite being related to the new Hyundai IONIQ 5 (MSRP $40,945), the Kia EV6 is slightly cheaper.

Current Kia incentives are good through May 31, 2022. We will update this page with the latest EV6 deals as they're announced, so be sure to check back at the start of each month. Make this your home base for getting the best deal possible on the highly-anticipated EV.

Kia EV6 Lease Deals

No advertised lease deals

The 2022 Kia EV6 doesn't have an advertised lease deal as of this writing. However, given the popularity of leasing, we think it's just a matter of time before the automaker begins offering lease specials. Kia Motor Finance (KMF) tends to offer aggressive lease discounts.

Having said that, we think it's possible that Kia may not pass along a $7,500 federal EV tax credit in the form of lease cash. This is the case with the Hyundai IONIQ 5, and could potentially make the EV6 a better electric vehicle to buy rather than to lease for the time being.

Alternatively, Kia has a balloon financing option that's similar to a lease deal for the EV6. The trim that's included with this option is the Wind 77.4 kWh EV. It's listed for $846 per month for 36 months with $0 due at signing. The deal includes 12,000 miles.

Kia EV6 Rebate Deals

Up to $7,500 federal tax credit

The 2022 Kia EV6 doesn't have a manufacturer rebate at this time. However, there are still significant incentives available.

For example, the $7,500 federal tax credit is available to those who are eligible. State plug-in rebates like the California Clean Vehicle Rebate ($2,000) and Clean Fuel Reward ($750) offer over $10,000 in potential savings with the tax credit.

We recommend checking your eligibility in advance since not everyone may qualify. In some cases, this may require speaking with a tax professional about whether buying an EV6 really makes sense based on your unique financial situation.

Kia EV6 Finance Deals

No APR deals

Kia doesn't have a financing deal yet on the 2022 EV6.

Fortunately, Kia tends to offer competitive rates on even its newest models. As a result, we could see the first EV6 financing deals emerge within the next month or two. Stay tuned for possible changes.

What's New

The 2022 Kia EV6 is an all-new electric crossover. It shares similar powertrains, tech features, and range as the Hyundai IONIQ 5, which is also an all-new vehicle for 2022. The EV6 utilizes the brand’s E-GMP platform that will be the basis for the majority of its new EVs coming out.

Against the competition, the EV6 boasts a range of up to 310 miles, though Kia claims the vehicle was able to travel up to 339 miles in independent testing, and 800-volt DC charging. Kia certainly has pulled out all of the stops and it has to if it wants to be competitive in the growing segment.

Choosing Your Kia EV6

The 2022 Kia EV6 is available in three trims: Light, Wind, and GT-Line. Prices start at $42,115 (with destination) and go up to $57,115. Kia is expected to come out with a high-performance GT trim soon but hasn’t announced pricing for the model year.

Engine Choices

What kind of performance and battery pack you get depends on whether you configure an EV6 with rear- or all-wheel drive and the trim level. The base Light trim with RWD comes with a single electric motor that produces 167 horsepower and a 58-kWh battery pack. The RWD versions of the Wind and GT-Line trims have the same electric motor but come with a larger 77.4-kWh battery pack for 225 hp.

The AWD variants of the Wind and GT-Line come with two electric motors and the larger 77.4-kWh battery pack for 320 horsepower.

Kia’s figures for the EV6 GT-Line claim the crossover can get to 60 mph from a standstill in 7.2 seconds.

When comparing apples to apples and looking at performance and range, AWD models lose 36 miles of range to gain an extra 95 horsepower to the tune of an extra $3,900. Depending on your needs, having the extra power and AWD might be worth taking the hit in range.

With 800V charging, the EV6 has some impressive charging times. When plugged into a 350-kW fast charger, the EV6 can go from having 10 to 80% of its range back in less than 18 minutes. Using the onboard 11-kW charger for Level 2 charging, the EV6 will go from 10 to 100% in 7 hours and 10 minutes for models equipped with the larger 77.4-kWh battery.

Passenger and Cargo Capacity

The 2022 Kia EV6 offers seating for up to five people. The sweeping crossover has a lot less cargo space than its twin the IONIQ 5 because of its sportier design. With the rear seats in place, the EV6 has 24.4 cubic feet of cargo space. Folding the rear seats down results in up to 50.2 cubic feet of cargo space.

Safety Features

Every EV6 trim comes with the Kia Drive Wise suite as standard equipment. Standard features include forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a driver attention monitor, automatic high-beam assist, and Kia’s Highway Driving Assist system.

Available safety features include a surround-view parking camera, a blind spot camera, a head-up display with augmented reality, and remote smart parking assist. Highway Driving Assist II, which is an advanced driver-assist system that can handle a lot of driving tasks on highways, is also available.

Since the EV6 is an all-new vehicle that just came out, neither the IIHS nor the NHTSA has been able to crash-test the vehicle.

On the tech front, the EV6 comes standard with a 12-inch touchscreen and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster for a high-tech look. The infotainment system also includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, five USB ports, and a wireless charging pad.

The EV6 flexes its tech muscles with available features that include Find My Car, weather information for approximately 25,000 cities, voice control, last-mile navigation, and Kia Pay. The latter allows owners to pay remotely for things from the car.

2022 Kia EV6 Light – MSRP From $42,115

For being the most affordable EV6, the Light comes well-equipped. Standard features include heated exterior mirrors, LED headlights and taillights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and 19-inch wheels. On the inside, the Light comes dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, recycled fabric and vegan leather upholstery, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.

2022 Kia EV6 Wind – MSRP From $48,215

On top of the Light’s features, the Wind adds a 14-speaker audio system, vegan leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger’s seat, and ventilated front seats. The Wind is the first trim to get Kia’s innovative vehicle-to-load feature that allows the EV6 to charge small devices and appliances.

The AWD version of the Wind is available with the $1,500 Wind Technology Package. It adds more advanced safety features.

2022 Kia EV6 GT-Line – MSRP From $52,415

As the sportiest trim – at least at the moment – the GT-Line has a unique body kit, automatically extending flush door handles, a sunroof, and multi-color accent lighting, sport design vegan leather upholstery, alloy pedals, augmented-reality head-up display, and a black cloth headliner.

CarsDirect Tip

The Kia EV6 certainly has the performance, range, and tech to be a compelling option in the class. For most people, we think the Wind trim with either RWD or AWD is the best bet. We’re not sure why Kia only offers a package with more available safety features for the AWD model, but if remote-park assist, a surround-view monitor, and a blind-spot monitor sound appealing, $1,500 for the package is money well spent.
