The 2023 Land Rover Range Rover enters its first full year in its current form with the addition of a plug-in hybrid model. The newly available Advanced Off-Road Capability Pack promises heightened performance in the wild. An all-electric Range Rover will join the lineup next year.

The 2023 Ranger Rover comes in three trim levels: SE, SE Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), Autobiography, First Edition, and SV. Pricing starts at $105,850 including destination and stretches to $194,450 for the SV before options.

All trims except the SE PHEV are available in long-wheelbase (LWB) form. LWB Range Rover prices range from $111,850 to $219,650 including destination.

Separately, Land Rover sells a similarly-named SUV called the Range Rover Sport with a lower starting price and an available supercharged V8 engine.

The 2023 Rover Rover offers buyers a choice of three engines. The SE comes standard with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder, and a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 available for $18,300. The V8 engine is standard on the Autobiography, First Edition, and SV. The SE PHEV gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder paired with an electric motor. Thanks to its plug-in technology, the SE PHEV can travel up to 48 miles on electricity alone.

All engines use an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Every Range Rover also comes with four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case, a terrain selector, and an adjustable air suspension.

The 2023 Range Rover is a full-size luxury SUV with abundant room for five in the standard cabin. Buyers also get 41 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 83.5 cubic feet with it folded.

LWB versions of the SE and Autobiography offer a third row, which boosts seating to seven. The LWB First Edition and SV dispense with the third row and instead provide an ultra-luxurious environment for four with individual rear seats divided by a full-length console.

LWB models have a maximum cargo capacity of 92.9 cubic feet.

As expected in this league, the 2023 Range Rover comes loaded for safety with surround-view cameras, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, driver alertness monitoring, and automatic emergency braking.

The Technology Package for the SE trims adds a review camera mirror, a head-up display, and two rear household-style power outlets for $2,000. The available automated parking system is a bargain at $200. All of these features are standard starting with the Autobiography.

The Range Rover starts out with a 13.1-inch touchscreen, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, navigation, HD and satellite radio, wireless phone charging with a signal booster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and five USB ports. An 18-speaker Meridian system is available on the SE for $1,200. Subsequent trims carry a 34-speaker system as standard.

The Autography and First Edition also receive a dual 11.4-inch screen rear entertainment system. The SV gets 13.1-inch dual screens.

There's no such thing as an entry-level Ranger Rover. The SE overflows with standard equipment that costs extra on most luxury vehicles. Every example gets extended Windsor leather upholstery, heated 20-way power front seats, heated power-reclining second-row seats, a power-adjustable steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, wood interior trim, automatic wipers, adaptive headlights with washers, soft-close doors, a hands-free power liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, and 21-inch wheels.

Ventilated front and second-row seats are available for $600 — or $2,000 when coupled with 24-way massaging front seats. Priced at $4,200, the top seating choice also provides a heated steering wheel and Executive Class rear outboard seats with power adjustments, memory settings, power-deploying cupholders, and an 8-inch touch touchscreen in the center armrest.

The Hot Climate Pack ($2,200) offers power rear side sunshades, a refrigerated compartment in the front console, four-zone climate control, and a cabin air purification system. The new Advanced Off-Road Capability Pack ($5,250) brings in a fully adaptive air suspension and an electronically active differential with torque vectoring.

The SE PHEV carries the hybrid powerplant with plug-in capability. Equipment and options are shared with the regular SE.

The V8 engine is standard on the Autobiography, along with semi-aniline leather upholstery, signature LED headlights, black brake calipers, dark chrome exterior trim, and 22-inch wheels. The Advanced Off-Road Capability Pack, Hot Climate Pack, and SE's available seating upgrades are standard here. Buyers can select individual Executive Class Comfort Plus rear seats for $3,800, which come bundled with a center rear console.

The First Edition gets the Executive Class Comfort Plus rear seats as standard, plus 23-inch wheels and illuminated sill plates with First Edition script. The standard Tailgate Event suite includes two leather seat cushions, tailgate speakers, and extra lighting.

The SV features high-quality details such as metal-plated body trim, a leather headliner, gloss white ceramic controls, chrome interior finishes, and even more leather deployed on interior surfaces. The SV rolls on unique 22-inch wheels.

The SV Intrepid Exterior theme adds dark wheels and styling elements, while the SV Serenity Exterior adds bronze and silver accents. Both packages are priced at $1,800. These themes can also be applied to the interior for $3,300.
