2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB-Class - Exclusive Ashburn New Car Discounts

The 2023 Mercedes EQB gains a new EQB 250+ trim with a less powerful motor and only front-wheel drive to bring a lower starting price. The other trims of the all-electric model are unchanged.

The EQB is available in three trims EQB 250+, EQB 300, and EQB 350, and base prices range from $53,395 to $61,250. Each trim is equipped with similar features and offers the same option packages.

There are three powertrain options for the EQB. The 250+ is new and is the only front-wheel drive model offered. The EQB 300 and EQB 350 are equipped with dual motors to provide all-wheel drive and more powerful motors yet can’t offer as long of a range on a full battery charge.

Speaking of which, Mercedes says the EQB can charge its battery from 10-80% in about 32 minutes at a DC fast-charger, provided you can locate a working station. Plugged into a 240-volt outlet, the battery can recharge that same amount in about eight hours. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters are present to adjust the regenerative braking level as preferred but it won’t bring the EQB to a full stop without using the brake pedal.

The government estimates that the EQB will save about $1,800 in annual fuel costs over the gasoline-fueled GLB.

The EQB is an adaptation of the GLB crossover and its 184.4-inch length puts it between the Tesla Model Y and the Audi Q4. Inside, it offers room for five and offers a third row for children for $1,250. The rear (second-row) seat affords 38 inches of legroom and the cargo space provides 24 cubic feet of space or 57 cubic feet of space with the seat backs folded. Those volume figures are down slightly to the GLB but on par with its EV rivals.

The EQB trims feature automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection with vehicle exiting warning, front and rear parking sensors, parking assist, high beam assist, and rain-sensing wipers.

The Driver Assistance Package Lite is offered for $1,300 and adds adaptive cruise control with lane change assist, lane keep assist, evasive steering assist, and forward cross-traffic braking.

The EQB has not been rated by IIHS or NHTSA.

All trims feature a 10.25-inch display with navigation, natural speech recognition, over-the-air updates, remote connected services, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Radio, and four USB ports. The mid-level Exclusive trim gains a wireless charger and an upgraded stereo while the Pinnacle trim packs a Burmester sound system.

The EQB’s adaptation of the GLB brings several unique styling cues up front with a smooth black grille, a more rounded front bumper, slimmer LED headlights, and a thin center light bar. The rear gets a similar update with a smoother tailgate panel that integrates a red light bar across its width, updated LED tail lights, and a revised lower bumper that does away with the faux skid plate and exhaust outlets. It creates a distinctive look that is notably far less rugged looking than the GLB.

The three primary packages offered are Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle.

The standard Premium trim includes features such as heated power-folding mirrors with auto-dimming on the driver’s side, roof rails, and a power tailgate. Inside, the EQB is equipped with a push-button start, synthetic-leather seats with eight-way power adjustability and memory positioning, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, dual-zone climate control with rear HVAC vents, and multi-color ambient lighting.

The AMG Night Package is offered for $3,250 and includes unique 18-inch gloss-black wheels, a unique grille with two chrome bars and a black surround, a revised front bumper, gloss black accents on the front, rear, and side lower plastic, mirrors, and window trim, and matte black roof rails.

The interior also sees notable upgrades such as sport seats with suede inserts and red stitching, stainless-steel pedals, a perforated-leather flat-bottom steering wheel, and back-lit dash panel trim. This package also opens up additional wheel options and the availability of leather seats ($1,450).

The Technology Package ($2,000) adds a head-up display, augmented video for navigation, and hand-gesture monitoring while stand-alone options include heated seats ($500), ventilated (and heated) seats for $950, a heated steering wheel for $250, and a panoramic sunroof for $1,500.

The mid-level feature group, the Exclusive Package, is $1,250 and features proximity entry, wireless charging, an upgraded sound system, four-zone climate control with ionizer, and massaging front seats. The top-tier Pinnacle Package can be had instead for $3,800 and adds a panoramic sunroof, and a surround-view monitor.

The EQB 300 offers the same features and available packages as the EQB 250+, but offers more power and is available in all-wheel drive.

The EQB 350 offers the same features and available packages as the EQB 300, but with all-wheel drive standard.
