2023 & 2024 MINI Hardtop - Exclusive Ashburn New Car Discounts

The 2024 Mini Hardtop continues with last year’s addition of the six-speed manual for its gas-fueled models and now offers the manual on the four-door Hardtop model. There is also a new entry-level Classic trim and navigation is added to the mid-level trim’s list of features.

The Mini Hardtop is available in four different trims; Cooper, Cooper S, Cooper SE, and John Cooper Works, and base prices range from $26,795 to $36,395. The Cooper SE currently does not make it onto the government’s list of vehicles to earn rebates as it is currently made in Oxford, England.

Each 2024 MINI Hardtop carries over a range of engine and transmission options. All trims (except for the SE) are standard with a six-speed manual transmission. The Cooper and Cooper S trims offer a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission while the John Cooper Works receives an eight-speed automatic (with a torque converter) transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is not available.

The all-electric Cooper SE model features an electric motor powering the front wheels with a 28.9 kWh (net) battery pack that delivers an estimated 114 miles on a full charge. It accepts a DC Fast charger to reduce the 0-80% recharging time to 36 minutes. The Cooper SE is rated at 108 MPGe. Fuel economy stands between 29 and 32 mpg combined, depending on trim, for gas editions.

The Cooper Hardtop is fitted with two doors or four doors. Its design’s boxy proportions mean that it makes the most of its 152-inch length but the two-door remains tight for rear legroom with just 31 inches. The four-door model extends another seven inches in length although it only offers a couple more inches of rear legroom. Cargo capacity increases from 8.7 cubic feet to 13.1 cubic feet behind the rear seat and from 34 to 40.7 cubic feet with the seats folded. There is no space penalty for the SE’s battery pack. The SE and John Cooper Works trims are only offered with two doors.

The MINI comes with automatic emergency braking, rear parking sensors, and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control is offered on the upper trims.

The MINI scores a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA and Good Ratings from IIHS but it is not a Top Safety Pick.

All trims are equipped with an 8.8-inch touchscreen, HD radio, satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Sound is played through six speakers and navigation is equipped on the mid and top trims.

The low-priced Classic trim is limited to three colors and features 15-inch wheels, LED headlights, Union-Jack tail lights, leatherette seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The $5,000 Signature trim offers additional exterior and contrasting roof colors, 16-inch wheels, proximity entry, a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, ambient interior lighting, and aluminum interior trim.

The Iconic trim can be selected instead for $7,400 and furthermore adds 17-inch wheels, power-folding mirrors, leather seats, a heated steering wheel, a flip-up head-up display, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

In addition to the increased power, the Cooper S gains 16-inch wheels, sport seats, additional driving modes, and a premium leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Cooper S also offers the Signature trim for $4,600 which opens up the availability of dynamic dampers for $500. The Iconic trim is offered for $7,800 or $8,400 on the four-door model, which also features an upgraded sound system.

The EV model also starts off in the Classic trim but it additionally features proximity entry, performance summer tires, navigation, heated seats, and dual-zone climate control. The Signature Trim package is $3,325 and the Iconic trim is $5,800.

The John Cooper Works is more race-track focused than the other trims and it comes with a revised sport suspension, 17-inch wheels, upgraded brakes, performance seats, and a unique steering wheel. The Signature Trim is $4,400 and includes adaptive dampers and the Iconic Trim is $7,400.
