What's New
Porsche hasn’t released anything official about changes it’s made to the 2023 Cayenne. Based on spy photos we’ve seen of pre-production vehicles that Porsche has been testing, we expect the midsize SUV to arrive with updated interior and exterior designs.
The Cayenne still belongs to the third-gen model that was introduced in 2019. With the midsize SUV entering its fifth model year on sale, we expect Porsche to come out with a redesigned model in the near future.
Choosing Your Porsche Cayenne
Porsche offers the Cayenne in a total of 19 different configurations across two body styles. The Cayenne SUV is available in nine trims: Cayenne, Platinum Edition, E-Hybrid, E-Hybrid Platinum
Edition, S, S Platinum Edition, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S E-Hybrid. Pricing for the SUV ranges from $73,650 to $172,750 (including destination).
The Cayenne Coupe, which features a design that’s inspired by a sports car with a rakish rear end, is offered in 10 trims: Coupe, Coupe Platinum Edition, E-Hybrid Coupe, E-Hybrid Coupe Platinum Edition, S Coupe, S Coupe Platinum Edition, GTS Coupe, Turbo Coupe, Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe, and Turbo GT. The Cayenne Coupe is slightly more expensive with pricing ranging from $82,150 to $190,150.
The two body styles share a lot of the same models, with the Coupe being available in a trim specific Turbo GT trim.
Engine Choices
Porsche separates the Cayenne trims with different powertrains for nearly model. Every trim comes with a different engine, giving drivers plenty of choice for performance.
Every Cayenne comes with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Cayenne E-Hybrid models with the V6 engine have an all-electric range of 17 miles. E-Hybrid models with the V8 are rated to travel up to 15 miles on electricity.

3.0L Turbo V6 Cayenne | 335 hp | 332 lb-ft | 20 mpg |
3.0L Turbo V6 E-Hybrid | 455 hp | 516 lb-ft | 21 mpg |
2.9L Twin-Turbo V6 S | 434 hp | 405 lb-ft | 20 mpg |

4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 Turbo | 541 hp | 567 lb-ft | 17 mpg |
4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 Plug-In Hybrid Turbo S | 670 hp | 663 lb-ft | 18 mpg |
4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 Turbo GT | 631 hp | 626 lb-ft | 18 mpg |
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
Unlike most of its competitors, the Cayenne is a two-row SUV that can seat up to five people. Porsche does not have an available third row. The Cayenne offers 27.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and a total of 60.3 cubic feet of cargo space.
The Cayenne Coupe comes with two rear seats, limiting seating capacity to four people. Because of its roofline, the Cayenne Coupe also loses some cargo space compared to the regular SUV. The Cayenne Coupe has 22 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 54.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded.
Safety Features
Despite its high starting price tag, the Cayenne doesn’t come with many standard safety features. The SUV is equipped with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and parking sensors as standard equipment.
The base Cayenne can be optioned with a surround-view camera ($1,200), night vision assist system ($2,420), blind spot monitoring ($950), lane keeping assist and traffic sign recognition ($1,300), adaptive cruise control ($2,000), and Porsche InnoDrive ($3,610) that combines adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist. Porsche offers an extensive list of options for consumers to explore. Compare Cayenne Trims Side-By-Side
Choosing a 2023 Porsche Cayenne can be daunting because of how many available trims and options there are. Unless you want a performance upgrade, the base Cayenne offers plenty of performance and luxury features for most drivers. The higher up the ladder you climb, the value proposition of the Cayenne drops rapidly, while power and performance increase exponentially.
